What's up guys? I am about to continue on my 04 mustang build and I thought I would put the build up for others to see and for recommendations and advice. The car is being built for NASA, SCCA, autocross, etc. I know there are better cars to choose from and some of the cars are built racing chassis cars worth 100k and that's ok. I don't have lots of money to spent but I will spend what I can, as it comes and still be competitive and fun.
So as the car sits:
2000 Cobra R springs, struts, and shocks
BAER 4 piston calipers in front Motul fluid
4.6 sohc kenne bell 2.1 about 400/440rw
Full tilt boogie complete irs kit cc plates
Torsen tr2 diff
Complete interior gut, batt in rear, a/c delete
Heater core delete, no abs
T56 magnum
Worn out nitto 555
Weight about 3300-3400lbs
Best time at NOLA 2:04
I believe that is it. I will get pics later on. I have a bit of cash coming my direction and wanted to get back on the mustang. It is between 6k and 8k. I was thinking of a MM k member kit, MM front coil over setup, MM solid motor mounts, long tubes, tires(if not wheels and tires) and I am open to suggestions for other stuff in the buget. There is a lot of work to do but I am committed to going all out this car and racing with it. In between some mods, I will finish hpde 3 and 4 and hopefully by then the car will be 100% ready for sanctioned racing. Oh no 4 valve or coyote swap yet. Gonna build a high compression, high rpm 2 valve screamer. E85 only

Sorry. No pics yet. Been really busy with family visiting from out of town. I went ahead and ordered ARH long tubes and I am just waiting for them to arrive. Shipping from manufacturer is 7 to 10 days. Ordered from cjpony. Next parts will be ordered soon.
What class are you planning to participate in? Idk yet what ever class I can. A lot of autocross too.

Not the question I asked at all. What class are you going to participate in?

This is the only pic that would upload. My lowest resolution setting is not low enough.

Ok I am looking at tires and front coil over spring rates. For tires I am looking at the bfg r1, Toyo proxes rr, or Hoosiers. Canceled the long tubes for now.

You need to do more research on classing before purchasing anymore parts.

Not really worried about that yet. Will be a year or two before I really start competing. For now I am gonna build the crap out of the suspension, super sticky tires, stock engine for now, and all safety equipment built to race in every race they will let me but probably to NASA or GT Racecar Series standards. Just gonna do it for fun while I build it and travel to different tracks.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Looks like you still need to use the clutch pedal with the S1 sequential conversation. Still interesting. There is another company that replaces all the internals on the mag t56 but for only $10k-$15k. I think I will wait on that one. Anyway I got some ARH long tubes and a SLP catback for a good deal for black Friday. Unfortunately both are on backorder. Lol go figure. I'll wait regardless. I saved almost $250. Now I am waiting on 2 more specific sales and then the build will commence. Weather and hand injury permitting. Going to Harbor Freight to pick up a cherry picking hoist soon.

Went ahead and ordered a set of bfgoodrich g force R1 slicks. Getting excited. So far, well under budget. Might look at getting a chromoly cage and harness.

Looks like the long tubes and BFGs will still be a while. No word on the catback. I was thinking about changing the timing components and oil pump for piece of mind while the engine is out. I know if it ain't broke, dont fix it. But, why not install a ford performance cobra oil pump and MMR chain guides? Engine has 80,000 miles on it and it would be relatively cheap insurance.
Anyway, I am deciding on if I want to do the install of everything. Been in a lot of pain lately and I only have a carport. Looking at PPG Cars and Stang Hi. I am afraid my budget is going to be drained if I have to pay for the install. Still have to tune it as well. Waiting on one more sale and I will have all of the front suspension components.

So the ARH long tubes and 2 BFG tires came in. Waiting on the other 2 tires. I sold the supercharger and am in the process of ordering 2 MM front struts, a WAP block and forged crankshaft. The block I am looking at came out of an aviator and is described as checked, cleaned, and honed. Anyone with .02 out there?
