This has been beat to death but all the threads I can find are dated and I’m an amateur. I’m looking to get the biggest bang for my buck for a little extra umph. Would it be worth it to pull some 01-04 navigator heads from local scrap yard or just find some 99-01 heads online? On top of this are there c head lower to b intake conversion kits still available? Would 96-98 4V cams still be the way to go? So many questions!

Go to any junkyard with lower mileage 99-02 Continentals and get the heads off those. Same 99/01 heads as the Cobras used. Or ebay them or FB for sale groups/forum classifieds if there is nothing local to you. 99/01 heads are a way better bang for the buck than the crazy prices of 03-05 heads and the power difference is negligible. Yes your 96-98 intake cams are the ones to go with if you are going OEM.

Wait you said Navigator heads? Those would be terrible, I think you mean Aviator heads which are Terminator heads, 05 Aviator heads being the best ones and also the most $$$.

Honestly your B heads are good heads. Maybe just spend that money on some Todd cams instead?

edit: intake adapter, there are some used B upper to C lower adapters floating around on these forums, you can post a want ad to see what you can get to make the swap easier.

Thank you for the detailed reply. But you don’t even think a head swap would be worth?

I made a post about the c head swap I did the other year. If you have any questions about it im sure I could answer them. I even have the adapter plate still. I already had a mach 1 intake so I never ended up using the adapter plate.

I wouldn't worry about a head swap unless you raised the compression and added custom cams.

I was also thinking about one day putting an Eaton on top of it because I always liked the twin screw look, which is why I wanted to swap heads, if I did that I realIze I wouldn’t be able to retain the b intake

I scored a set of 9 thread aviator heads from the pick and pull last year for pocket change, so they're out there. I've got the express purpose of putting an Eaton blower on my car as well, which makes the C head swap worth it. Power vs trouble, leaving the B heads and using a Vortech would make more sense. But I love blower whine, so I've made my decision already.

So on top of aviator heads, besides bolts and gaskets, what else would I need to get the Eaton on there

If I were you, I'd buy one of the full Eaton swap kits people sell from time to time. On top of the eaton, to run it on our generation you need the timing cover, pulley bridge, alternator, intercooler, lower intake, heat exchanger, intake piping, and other miscellaneous items. Also you'll probably want to do a COP swap, although you can run plug wires if you want. I'll look later and see if I can find a file I saved that lists everything.

Mustang Matt's guide to the 03/04 Terminator swap
That is one of the best writeups I've found in the last while that describes the swap in detail.
