Is there anyone out there selling mystichrome leather either used, reproduced or OEM?

There was one original batch of the color changing leather made by Garden State Tanning. TMI bought all the extra and had sets for sale until it was all gone. There was an attempt to reproduce it recently, but it looked much different. I see used seats for sale periodically, but you’ll most likely have the same problem with the driver’s side seat showing wear.

I have an extra new complete set for a vert, but it’s my backup set should I ever need it in the future. I have no plans to sell it. The color changing leather is an issue for anyone restoring these cars. The paint can easily be redone. The leather... not so much.

Talk to your local upholstery shop. If the Mystichrome part is still good they should be able to replace the leather around it. My passenger seat had a split seam when I bought the car. The shop replaced that panel and aside from it being a little smoother than the rest of the leather you can't tell. I'm hoping to have them replace the bolster on my driver seat so I can save my spare skins for a later time.

Over the last year or two, I have bought 2 sets of vert seats. One set the drivers seat is pretty toast, but I wanted the set anyway, as there could be many pieces of the mystichrome panels that could be used. Perhaps keep an eye out, using that thought process of putting a "humpty" back together, as there really is nothing left new of the original material.
