Nobody I know is serious enough to have a VBOX I can borrow and I don't want to spend the coin to use it once, so any other suggestions?

I know TRC has an app, but I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Tell you what man. I'll ship you my vbox if you promise to ship it back. You've been on here long enough that I trust you to do that.

Or buy a Dragy for $150.

That would be awesome man! I wouldn't be opposed to letting you hold some money until it was returned either as that's only fair.

Is it complicated to setup though?

Not at all. You stick it to the windshield, plug in the power cord to your 12v outlet and wait a couple minutes for it to find all the satellites. Then go drive. It records all the time. Later you upload the files to vBox Verify and see the results.

PM me and we can work out the details. You can send me some cash and I can use some to pay for shipping. I'll refund the rest when you ship it back.

Or, you could just datalog your car and do a pull to and from the speeds you want. Then just look at the time stamps on the log compared to vehicle speed.

^^ This. That's how I've always timed myself. You can also take your datalogs and plot MAF lb/min against RPM and get a rough figure of your HP curve to go along with that number.

There’s also a program I’ve found called ‘Virtual Dyno’ which can use a log to graph HP/TQ. Seemed reasonably accurate, but I’ve only ever tested it with a stock LS1 car. It might struggle if there was any tire spin in the pull, etc.

Got to love the gear head community. Manly nod of approval conveyed.
