I have a beer bet that hopefully someone can settle (actually the more people who chime in the better). I've been trying to tell a guy that the 2011 and 2012 GT500 SVTPP (Performance Pack) cars either came with the skinny stripes or stripe delete. He's trying to say that the svtpp cars also had wide stripes because a rep at Ford Performance told him so. I think the rep was high or misunderstood him.

I know the wide stripes were only on the non svtpp cars for those years and were not an option for the performance pack cars until 2013 (as the skinny stripes were discontinued).

So who's right?

Unless it was custom ordered, the skinnies or no stripes were they only options on the SVTPP. It was a mark of exclusivity for the buyer to know visually (if stripes were optioned) it was a higher performing spec car. Exclusivity was a pillar of SVT products.

***edit*** Applies to 2011-2012. in 2013-2014 Stripes were wide. Apologies if there was any confusion.

Saw a 2013 gt500 last week which had the wide stripes on it so I figured it was a non svtpp car. Got to the dealer and my buddy showed me the build sheet and it was an svtpp car, the guy who ordered the car custom ordered it with the wider stripes instead of the skinny ones. But unless its specified svtpp cars come with the dinky skinny stripes. Pretty crazy too, the car had every single option including a glass roof and only had 2,500 miles on it for 49k. If I didn't have so much money into my 2012 I probably would have bought it.

There were no "skinny stripes" available on the 2013/14 GT500's. The "wide stripes" were standard on all the 2013/14 GT500,s the only options were Stripe Delete or the color of the stripes.
