A chevy sexually assaulted my Cobra

I was out for a lazy day drive yesterday and lost power in my Cobra. I had power washed it and think I may have got something wet. I turned on hazard lights and coasted to the side of the road and before I was even stopped, here comes a screeching chevy truck, then bam. She of course didn't have insurance, was speeding, and likely texting because she didn't see me until it was too late. Anyways, it was a hard hit. I know I am going to need some a lot of work but I wanted to see if I can find any of the harder to find parts like factory, bumper, wing and tail lights. Anyone know where to get these?

Man, that had to definitely be a hard hit. Thankfully you weren't hurt. Right? I hope you get some leads on parts. Looks to be a pristine Cobra, too, other than the rear end damage. I wish you the best putting it back to original condition.

Man, that sucks. Sorry about your car. One of my favorite Mustang body styles. I don't know how people can text and drive. Morons!
Good luck going forward.

Man I’m sorry to see this. Glad you are ok. Every day on my way to/from work it seems 50%+ of drivers have their heads up their asses. It is ridiculous.

That’s a serious shot there. Best of luck getting her fixed up.

Wow man, you ok? That was a good hit right there. Any idea how fast she was going? What was the speed limit?

Are you claiming it on your insurance? Or paying to fix it yourself?

I thought I was ok but I’m really getting sore tonight.

I need to add a steeering wheel to the list. Just noticed it’s bent back pretty good.

This car was absolutely flawless on the exterior. The hood popped up on it a few years ago and smacked the top and I have collector car insurance through Grundy. They are awesome to work with so I’m sure they will take care of it. I want this fixed right and I’m always impressed with what the Hack Shack in Rogers, AR has done for me. The last time, they covered the right factory parts, I just had to locate them.

I noticed tonight a couple of roller Fox bodies on Craigslist. Anyone know if the Cobra spoiler holes match up with LX spoiler mounts on the hatch?

I'm sure the insurance company will total the car out, looks to have quite a bit of fold in the wheel wells. Stay firm and buy it back, then look for a replacement. Might hit the doctor just to make sure.

100000% GO SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!!

have documentation, keep track of every appointment, phone call, email, text, letter, etc for both yourself and your car. You will need this if you end up having a medical claim, and do the same for appraisals, valuations, parts, etc.

Start looking on eBay, Craigslist, cars.com, for a comparison car, oem parts, etc and document every car and part you find.

Even if she has no insurance and you go against your own insurance you have the right to be made whole to how you and the car were before the accident.

Well, that sucks all the way around. Sorry to see this. The 93 Cobra is such an iconic car. I hate to see one get hit like this.

Glad you are mostly ok!

My wife is a nurse practitioner and she said it looks like I am going to live. I took some ibuprofen last night and feel much better today. The seat was jammed too but I did get it freed up so I crawled back to the back. I was able to feel around and get the inertia switch reset. It fired right up and begged me to drive it. With the back split open, its really loud and I let it idle for a while but couldn't tell if I was smelling gas fumes or rich cold exhaust so I shut it down in case the tank is leaking.

So back to rear bumpers, is cervani's an exact match?

As far as I know it is. I ran one on an 89 coupe. It was a very nice fit and quality was great. This was 20 years ago though.

It's sad to see one of our own kind damaged like this. WTF kind of person drives without insurance? I know, anyone who causes a crash.

LMR should have all the parts you need to erase the damage.

Wow! Those cars are rare as hell so it’s tough to see a clean one hit like that!

Glad you are OK, OP.

This. This. This.

Plus, if that Chevy is ever nominated for the supreme court, send a letter to your senator about what it did. :)

Glad you're ok!
