Clutch pedal dragging?

Have absolutely enjoyed 350R I picked up a couple weeks ago, have racked up around 1500 miles on the car already, broke the motor and clutch in kindly for the first 500 miles, then a bit more aggressively the next 500. Somewhere around the 900 mile mark the clutch started somewhat sticking to the floor when fully depressed.... when you let your foot off pedal during a quick shift the pedal actually is delayed in coming back to the top of its travel and slaps my foot. Anyone else have this problem? Dealer did recognize the problem during the first oil change last week. Sprayed some lithium grease on all moving pedal parts today... with no remedy. I could have the dealership tear into the problem, but at a last resort. Thoughts?

I have the same thing. I wondered if it was a built in feature to ease clutch transition.

Idk, clutch pedal was acting very responsive and normal the first 800 miles or so..... then sticking. How is the pedal pulled back to the top? Spring, hydraulic pressure?

The pressure plate is responsible for pushing back against the hydraulic TO bearing which pushes fluid back to the clutch pedal master cylinder and in turn pushes the pedal back up. Sounds like a long chain but in practice it usually happens lightning quick since hydraulic fluid is incompressionable and transfers energy immediately and equally to all points in the system. I would try flushing the system and installing new hydraulic fluid as a start. Possibly there's some thrash in the system that is restricting fluid return to the master cylinder. Or the master cylinder piston is dragging on return.

Diaphragm clutches used to have a bad reputation for going over-center from too much dis-engagement on shifts, causing them to stick to the floor and pop back up similar to what you describe. But they pretty much fixed all of that with bent-finger pressure plates and I haven't hear of anything like that affecting dual-disc clutches such as our GT350s use.

I would keep after the dealer to address it.

Thanks, it truly is the dealers place to fix this..... especially at 1500 miles. I try to schedule something this week.

Today as a last resort before scheduling an appointment with dealership......changed the clutch assist spring with the steeda setup. Way better pedal feel with no sticking pedal. Seemed to have solved the problem.

Good to hear. Removing the spring on my '14 GT500 was a great mod.
Do you need the lighter spring or are you able to remove it completely and drive without the spring?

I did remove the factory spring and drove it a few miles..... zero sticky pedal. Installed the steeda spring and holder.... still no sticking pedal.... perfect pedal feel. Took it to track today and it performed flawlessly under the extreme conditions.

I have the same issue of a sticking pedal on high RPM quick shifts. I asked about it last year, but no one else said they had the issue. I thought it was a clutch delay valve like they use on some German cars. My pedal doesn't kick back up, though. It just hangs and then eventually slowly re-engages. It's very disappointing to watch videos of other GT350/GT350R owners doing lightning shifts in their cars when mine won't let me.

Are you saying removing the helper spring remedied the problem?

Yes, removing the spring cured the problem for my 350R.... I then replaced the spring with the softer steeda spring and spring holder..... still good so far.
