Here's a thread for people who are interested in posting/reading interesting articles related to "Lost Civilizations". i.e- evidence pointing to the existence of advanced civilizations thousands of years ago. I'd like to stick to "hard evidence", things you can see and touch if possible. I can already forsee all of the "ancient aliens" memes being posted but hope this can remain somewhat serious and friendly! :D

I'll start off with a few I stumbled across recently:

A convincing case for the location of the lost city of Atlantis:

Part 1

Part 2

I think this satellite image was the clincher for me. This area of Africa was obviously absolutely devestated by some sort of tsunami or mud flow at some point in the past. If you look at the full map of Africa, you can see similar evidence from the Mediterranean coast of Libya all the way to the west coast of Africa!

105,000 miles of ancient irrigation canals in Africa could have fed billions of people!

The best one I read about was a settlement on the west coast of Canada over 14k years old. They said it technically shouldn't exist according to our current records but it is clearly a settlement made by modern humans. I'm sure I can find it again so I will post it when I do. I love hearing about these things because I am a firm believer that we are no smarter or intelligent in the relative sense than those that came before us. We just have more tools and years of understanding at our disposal.

Love this stuff.

Look at Sanskrit and Mesopotamia. All very intriguing locations that I believe have held advanced human life for much longer than we know

The markings across Africa were not made by some catastrophic tsunami... they are made from smaller rivers and the fact that the predominate wind flow across that entire area is from the east. Google Saharan dust storms... they get blown out into the Atlantic ocean.
