Race car...this was spot on! This car had some of hood shaved for a monster blower, had an ice tank in the back, upgraded fuel system, battery disconnect out the back, numerous paint repairs, holes cut all over, and more. The car was put back to stock and compression checked good though. Without the inspection none of this would’ve showed up. I can’t thank you guys enough for the advice, it really paid off. On with the search!!!

I've been around the block a few times lol. I am glad you didn't get burned. Unfortunately someone else will.

That is why I never purchase from a dealer because it is very common to see a car put back to like stock condition that has been ragged on. My best advice is to take your time and buy from a private owner, preferably a member.

So I’m out on this car, but am curious what say you guys on what that car (in it’s present state) is truly worth. I realize I’m getting into subjective price land, but just wondering.

Good luck OP that’s why I say with the age of these cars now always always get an inspection. These cars especially if you want a more popular color aren’t going to get any easier to find. Even the used parts market isn’t what it was years ago.

I will say don’t settle get what you want the 1st time. I’d walk from that car too. I love my CO I don’t wanna sell but if I did I’m confident I could get what I paid for it in 2013.

Well done on getting it checked out!! I think the car would still be a 24-25k car easy.

Someone will want that car and would make it back into a Race Car again, and that color is not easy to come by. People with $$$ pay for rarity and there are not to many of the CO.

The right car will come along for you. Wishing you luck on the next one to come soon.

Are you dead set on a CO Scotty?
Not at all, just my favorite. I’m not super picky on color but do prefer CO and TR over the others. My old car was black so I kinda have a soft spot for that as well. I’m actually looking at a SVTP members black one again. I’ve had it on my radar for a while but in that same timeframe I actually had 2 TR deals fall through and now this CO. Actually now that you mention it, which colors are less popular and less valuable? Is black on that list?

Colors are subjective, as you know, but I'd say the least popular is probably the silver and yellows. The CO and MC are the ones that command a premium.

Value, regardless of color, is going to come down to abuse. It's getting much harder as the years go by to find an unmolested Terminator.

The CO you were looking at was a perfect example. Rare and sought after color but had 5 owners and was a bit hacked up.

If it was in prime condition that car would've been priced in the $30's.

Damn you Hudson for speaking the truth. LOL. I happen to love Silver as I think it is clean, classy and is always in style. Colors like yellow, green, orange, purple (in general) are niche colors. Meaning sometimes they are popular and other times not so much. Black, blue, red, white and silver seem to always be in style and are colors "most" cars will ALWAYS be available in.

I think, for the Cobra, MC, CO and SB are the most desirable. Then it's OW, DSG and RF. Lastly it's BLK (it's beautiful, but a Bee-otch to keep clean), TR, MG, Silver, SY and ZY. That's just MY opinion based on what I have seen around here in general.

But as mentioned it's subjective. Some here would probably take a SY or ZY over CO.

Haha I actually like silver too.

I don't think there's a color on the Terminator that I don't like.

I agree about the black too, owning one myself I can agree that it's a part time job keeping it clean.

black is the most common/made

black is evil looking,owning black.
what I don't like about it,is it doesn't show off the black trim as the others do,

If you the OP is still looking, I came across a 2004 CO Cobra with 18,800 here in Denver (I always troll Craigslist - you never know). It says it's a twin turbo making 700+ HP. I won't post the link here so it doesn't look like I am trying to sell it but just do a search - guy says he wants $23K which if it's all good, is pretty reasonable for someone looking for a turbo car.
