I have a bit of a mystery on my hands and not sure what to check next..

2010 GT500, 76K miles... about 3 months ago, driving about 20 mph with the windows down, I notice a sound from the front suspension area anytime I drive over any uneven surface that causes the suspension to move under load. It sounded like something was loose (when bolts aren't tight and parts are moving slightly type of sound).

I take it into the shop, they tack-welded my cat back suspension in case it was the exhaust causing the sound and recommended that I look into replacing some suspension parts as it was all stock at the time. I decided to upgrade some parts while I was at it so I had them replace/install the following:

Eibach Shocks/Struts
Eibach lowering springs
BMR LCAs
BMR LCA relocation brackets
BMR panhard bar
M/M caster camber plates
Front sway bar end links
Inner and outer tie rod ends

I picked up the car, did an initial drive, didn't notice the sound so went on my way. Driving it last week through my neighborhood, windows down, and hear that noise again ~20 mph over any bump in the road. I put the car up on stands and spent hours checking every bolt I can; everything feels really tight.

Any suggestions what this might be? It seems like it would be the sway bar end links, but I checked them twice and they are really tight.

Try driving on the same road that causes the causes the sound and hit the brakes slightly to see if that gets the noise to stop, I had the strangest squeaking/thumping sound I would have sworn it was my suspension but it went away when I was on the brakes (which were all only months old), because it was really them lol.

Like 96gt02 surmised, it could be the brakes. What pads are you running up front?

Ive seen more than a few times Lexus cars with Fixed 4 piston calipers and aftermarket pads make this kind of noise.

AHA !! I wonder if this is the culprit behind the noise i got from the rear? It would explain alot.

Thank you all, these are great suggestions. I can't remember what pads I am running, although I changed them out about a year ago. I'll tear into them next weekend and see what I can discover.

I mean you dont really need to take them all apart before you know if thats the issue, just drive on a road that you can get the issue to repeat and then drive down it again with the brake on lightly to see if that stops the noise

Test it out, and fyi my issue was the rear pads. I knew it was the brakes because it went away when i touched the pedal, then I isolated it to rear as it stopped when pulling the ebrake only.
