Very Subwoofer Box

Title is supposed to say Vert Sub Box

Wanted to add some bass to the 460 system. I had already replaced the factory head unit last year. I fiberglassed the back of the box to follow the curve of the trim panel in the trunk.




Rockford Prime 10s dual VC

Hopefully the carpet is in today so I can finish.

This is my sub box. Its only one, but I still have most of my trunk space. Being a coupe, I can still fold the rear seats down too.

I did something very similar in my Fusion. Sub on one side, amp on the other.

What amps are you running? Does it rattle? Did you have to dynomat the trunk?

I am using Mach 460 on the factory speakers. Rockford R5001XD on the subs. I matted the truck floor but that’s it. No vibrations on the trunk.

I had mine made at a local shop in San Diego when I drove down for a funeral. Al and Ed’s I think. A 10” sub off on the passenger side. I can pull it out when I do DE events and autocross. Sounds ok, a little weaker than they said it would be. It needs two 12” not one 10” in my opinion

I have a 10 inch idq it sounds good but it lacks the volume so I hear ya on that.. I am thinking about either doing 1 jlw6 10 or the bigger brother and do the idmax 10

I run a 12" Solobaric in the passenger side trunk of my 98. Sounds great, and only required .88 cubic feet sealed. I run it off an old school PPI art series A600.2

I don't need to shake the windows on all the houses when I drive by. My 10" gives me more than enough bass. The box is something 0.7 cu.ft.
