Hey guys i have a hellion single turbo cobra with pte 7675 running on e85, 750hp at 20 psi, currently having a new shortblock built. My question is since i already have everything done with the single setup would it be possible to cut the crossover pipe down a little bit and basically Y pipe everything for twins, ie y pipe off crossover inlet and y pipe exhaust back into downpipe? Ive tried searching but not much luck other then all out race cars, im looking to stay around 800 hp for now. Any thoughts or experiences with this?

Well you’d have to mod both the hot and cold side, dual inlet IC etc.

I’d sell it and get a twin kit if that’s what you really want.

The Y could be a bottle neck unless it's enlarged to flow the air that both turbos will produce.

Just out of curiosity is 800hp your only reason wanting to go with twins?
If it is, why not just add more boost? @ 20lbs your just starting to get into that turbo's sweet spot. 25-28-30#'s well get you there.

I just redid my intercooler setup so id really like to stay with it, i cant pipe twins together into a single pipe before intercooler?

I believe my crossover is a 4 inch, if i y piped off that with 2 3 inch pipes should flow enough wouldnt it, thats bigger then hellion twin kit?

No wanting to STAY around 800 for now not go up yet, new motor will have a lil higher CR so on same boost im at now will easily be around 800. This is a street car more then a all out race, i dont like the spool characteristics of the 7675 so far, so more of wanting a better street car when not racing, power capability of the 7675 is not the issue at all.

Ok that's understandable you could get a hold of Jose at Forced Inductions.
I'm sure he can set you up with something In that same fame size that will spool faster.

Waste of time/money. Spool won't change with twins, you are using half the engine to drive each turbo. The hellion kits are slightly slower to spool simply because of their design but if you want more street manners sell it and put on a TVS.

Im thinking smaller twin like 55 or 58 bb which should spool decently quick, i already have custom bullet cams, also just put in a built trans so no auto.
Twins aren't going to spool faster. Get some custom cams while the engine is apart. Contact Todd Warren aka @na svt for those. Also, ditch the 6 speed and go auto.

Not sure that i would consider it a waste of time and or money, spool is kind of a hopeful by product of going twins really. Im not afraid to try different things and if i can work it out fairly easy, looks cool, and possibly better spool from a smaller turbo, and performance is similar then the project would be a success to me.

Again, twins will not increase spool. A properly set up single with the correct cams/trans will perform just as well. The only reason I went twins was because of class rules. No idea where this idea that twins are super fast spooling and singles are terrible came from.

just to a smaller single billet 67-70mm turbo if you want better spool, still have plenty of room to make 800

I called KURGAN MOTORSPORTS and asked about doing a pte 7685 single using a cg fab kit and I asked them if it would hit 1000 hp on e85 and they said no but I here this is one of the best shops around they told me to go tt to reach that goal..
