They have the new section on the 2019 models. So I looked at the Mustang and discovered some information about the GT500.
1. The price range of the Mustang is $27,000.00 to $85,000.00. That is about $20,000.00 more than a GT350R price. That means the GT500 will be about $85,000.00 then include the dealer added markup and you are looking at $100,000.00 out the door with the tax.
2. The optional engine section they show a 5.2L engine with 750HP and 700 foot pounds of torque.
3. Transmission will be a 7 speed twin clutch auto. I hope they will include the 6 speed manual.

I wonder if the 7 speed auto will be available on the GT350?

Some paid that for a GT350R and a number of years ago for a GT500KR. This will be no different.

These are respectable guestimations and estimates.

When the trinity gt500 was lingering around the final development months, the guess was “more hp than a zr1, maybe 650+” and the line said 650hp*

That car ended up having 662hp (670+, since they made 600-615whp pretty routinely.) and had a top speed of over 200mph, cost $55k-70k.

My bet is the new car will make over 750hp, and weigh under 3900lbs. I foresee about a $10k jump in price over a trinity to $65k base, and about $80-85k loaded.

An $85k mustang sounds expensive, but that would be a 750+hp, full handling options, 7spd dct, premium interior/glass roof, bla bla bla mustang.

I can tell you from experience, building my 03 cobra to a usable and good handling 750hp took about 4 years and $30k of suspension, brakes, engine, trans, diff, wheels, tires, clutch, tuning, forced induction, labor etc and the car was $25k so I was into it $55k.

If Ford wants $65-85k in 2018 for a full tilt, excellent interior/exterior, great handling very modern car, they are completely inline and priced right to do so.

Now on a more applicable new vs new sense, BMW wants $85-145k for 443-625hp M’s, AMG wants $75-250k for 450-650hp ttv8’s, Juaguar wants $75-200k for 500-625hp v8’s, Audi wants $200k+, Lamborghini wants $250k+, Ferrari wants $350k+, I could go on for days.

Ya $65-85k is a lot, but apart from a hellcat at $60k for 707hp or $65k for 797hp, you aren’t touching 750hp for sub $100k.

Ford is giving a lot of car for the money. And a warranty. Enjoy it, or buy it used in 2-3 years and enjoy it.

It’s about twice the price of an 03 cobra new. It’s been 15 years. Inflation alone would have that car at $45-50k today. The other $15-30k gets you an extra 350hp, linger warrenty, 7spd dct, a dedicated and durable irs, way better brakes, way better interior, and modern exterior. I’m forgetting the frills like nicer door chime, nicer mirrors, better mpg, better tires and so on.

Everything is full speculation about the GT500 at this point. However I did hear from a pretty credible source that the FORD VIP's are supposedly (I emphasize) unveiling (at least riding in) the new GT500 in OCT at a noteworthy race track in the West. Again, I got that from a high up guy. But as always with this thing so tightlipped we just dont know.
