FRPP Cooling Fan

I did my annual cooling system maintenance (changing coolant) and I decided to swap the stock fan on 2008 to one of the FRPP cooling fans that were used on the 1314 GT500.

The swap was easy with the exception of figuring out how to dis-connect the fan's electrical connection and getting the old bulky fan out.

The new fan really pushes a lot more air. The body of the fan is a little slimmer and the fan itself is also lighter and really cranks some air through it. Its a little louder than the stock unit but for $200 I think it was a good investment.

With as much heat as these cars can generate, more cooling power is always better. Are you paired with a 170 degree T-stat?

I did the same thing on my '11. The new fan also has ducts that open at speed on the edges. Affordable and good bolt on cooling upgrade.

.........and another feature that is not mentioned often, the FRPP fan upgrade has the second mounting location for a larger S/C reservoir, like the Roush 3X.........

This additional fastener mounting position makes the Roush 3X look like a factory Ford install.........

Yes, it makes the 3X look like an oem Ford install, instead of missing the fastener in that area. The correct clips from Ford come in a bag of four and the screw fasteners are the same way, bag of four, but when you are done it looks oem Ford and not like something is missing.

Thanks! Just wasn't sure on the difference because a few companies sell both, but they are different prices.

I have found that oem items like this fan assy., or the front LCA's, or the SVTPP strut mounts or other items that are re-boxed under a FRPP part number are the same parts, but less money than the same parts sold by the long Ford part number in a regular Ford box.

I did not take a picture of it, but this 2013/14 FRPP fan shroud assy. also has a "SVT" molded into the plastic on the shroud. You can't see it once the shroud is installed, but it is there.
