Lund tuned my gt500 and was pretty good to deal with but I emailed Jon JR about when he could tune my coyote and he wouldn’t give me a date just would say pay for it then I will let you know. I reply look I’m not going to pay and you can’t do it for months . He replies I don’t understand why you need a firm date. I replied we talked about this in a former email this car needs to be tuned on a Dyno so I need to schedule that. He replies just pay and we will get it done when I can and if I wasn’t happy with that go somewhere else.
Called Shaun at AED and he returned call same day and was extremely helpful. I was having an idle issue and he said figure it out first and gave me some ideas . Lund said pay first then figure it out

Not 100% sure why it happened, dynoed at 698hp and 650tq on 91 gas, talked with Lund and had a race fuel tune done. 104 octane unleaded. I sent him 1 data log and he reviewed and sent a tune back and said good to go.
Motor blew about 20gallons later.
It threw a rod at about 5000rpms and 3/4 throttle, but I had done many wot runs before that but not the same that day .

Im guessing you have a TVS setup of some kind? kinda hard to believe the motor gave out under the those conditions on a relatively safe setup no where near the limits of the motor.

Was the car tuned for 3/4 throttle or WOT? It's not always the tuners fault when an engine fails. Especially when there is literally thousands of gt500s out there with Lund doing the tuning.

Tune for WOT, it has a 2.9 whipple.
Ya it’s strange that it threw a rod at those power numbers

You missed my point. The car wasnt tuned for high load at 3/4 throttle. It was tuned for WOT only.

Sadly you'll never know unless you were datalogging during failure.
Still, we all know the rods are the weak link usually, and a Whipple has significantly increased power over stock levels. Even though most survive at that point, anything can happen and Lund does have a great reputation. My '14 Lund tune was perfect.
Good luck on the rebuild, I also have 2 new take off sets of '13-14 cams and springs.
Everyone thinks of the TVS as the main power gainscwith 5.8s but the cams are equally impressive in changing the feel of the power band.
If I can help let me know.

AED! Best customer service I've ever had with any car or tuner. Took the drive up there for a dyno tune and left feeling like I had a brand new car. The difference was night and day!

If I started all over again i'd go with AED. I should have went with him the first time but I was being a cheapo lol. I had palm beach and I really think my car just didn't like the tune that was on it. I switched from Lund to palm beach because I felt like there was more left in my car with my set-up and my own personal reasons. Switched to Taylor Curtis with 5th Gear Automotive and my issues were solved in the first initial tune and the car pulls harder. Nothing against Palm Beach because they're obviously doing something right but I guess i'm just one of those bad apples.
