^^^^have either of you considered a pancreas transplant? My boss had one in 2009/2010 timeframe along with a kidney. The pancreas is still fine and he’s been off insulin for years now. However his kidney has started to fail again.

I didn't know that was an option. I think the complications that come with that may be worse than the diabetes. I keep mine really well controlled so I can live like a normal person while a transplant may bring about other issues. I'd love an artificial closed loop insulin/CGM solution to come out. Hopefully soon.

I bought 10 tickets for $100 Saturday at the Woodward dream cruise, and they threw in a free stuffed animal - mustang with a Ford 2018 bandanna for the grandson.

MiniMed is supposed to have a closed loop system now, I got off minimed cause there CGM was off by over 140 points at times. I remember going to the gym and looked and my sugar read 233 on the CGM and I did a real hard workout then got ready and went to my truck. In the middle of the parking lot I dropped like a rock and my sugar was really 30 instead of 140. So Minimeds CGM does not work well for me, and since I have not felt a low blood sugar in over 15 years it could get really bad at times so I moved to the dexcom CGM with the animas pump that is now bought out by minimed. I still do not trust minimeds CGM my sugars move around to much for it to keep it inline. My lowest sugar so far has been 20 and that is when my wife and 2 daughters found me on the kitchen floor, if you do not feel you lows that is not good but I do the best I can and keep my sugars in line as much as possible.

When my daughter turned 18 she got a tattoo for me, a grey ribbon that stands for diabetes and the type I have on the ribbon, the blood drops are for me testing my sugar each day and "For My Dad" because believe it or not she still loves her dad, the only thing she will add to it is the year I was born and the year I died. So since I have a lot of tattoos she wanted her 1st one to mean something and it was for me which is very touching to me and she loves her tattoo.
