To me, there is a lot of low hanging fruit with respect to getting traction. Having good tire options and maybe a drag suspension button with remote sway bar disconnects would be pretty cool. I often wish that the dual mode suspension on my '14 was normal/drag (rather than normal/sport). Or normal/sport/drag would be the best of both worlds. As an armchair engineer I'd try to refine the launch control and do everything possible to get some weight off of the nose of the car and move it toward the rear. How about a VHT tank and remote sprayer over the rear tires? (jk).

I am more of a straight line guy who drives mostly on the streets. I would not want a car that handles like a 1980's Lincoln, but I also don't care about the car outperforming a ZL1 1LE or Z06 around a track because I don't participate in road races.
For my preference, I would be happy with a DCT or 10 speed auto, can knock off a 10.7 @130-133 in the 1/4 mile on stock rubber, has big brakes with pads that won't over-dust, and has adequately sized rear tires such as 315+ on 11.5"+ width rims that can hook better than the last version of the GT500 on the street. 750hp should get it there easily. Would love to see price points around $70K.

I just hope it doesn’t go 12,000 miles and blow-up the “stock” motor

Plus one except for the auto. Have less than no interest in having anything other than a manual trans.
