Jesus, 43K for a well optioned CC 4x4 Lariat? Might as well just buy an F-150 for that price. Or this Ranger is an excuse to bump the price up for the F-150?

Super Duty it is. lol

meh...hopefully there are other engine options later on.

Doubting it.

Dunno if Ford sees the value in putting in a diesel in the truck.

Does anyone know the power numbers?

The HP/TRQ for the 2.3L is all over the place. Seen 285hp for the Explorer to 350hp for the Focus RS

I will wait for the Raptor version

You may be waiting for a while.

Expect a larger engine / hybrid option in a year or so.

That's been the issue with mid-size trucks for years.

Think the 2.3L will town 7,700?

That's asking a lot of a small engine.

Ford has been tight lipped on the performance number, it’s supposed to be using the crank and rods from the RS. Guessing output may fall between the 2.3 stang motor and the RS motor.

One article said they wanted to be the highest in class, which I think is 7,700, but I could be wrong on the rating.

I guess if its 325hp with the 10 speed it could do 7,700 but that wonder how stressed the brakes/frame would be.

I'm more concerned about longevity. That's a lot of stress on some small parts. The 2.3 is a strong little engine though.

My guess is that with this pricing on Ranger, Bronco is going to be more expensive. Which is a bummer because I think a Rubicon Unlimted is a stretch at $45k. I don't think its unrealistic to see a Ranger and Bronco Raptor edition go $50k+ and that's not a good thing...

Thank inflation, regulation, and more added tech.

About a decade ago you could leave the showroom with a base Ranger for ~$10,000.

In 1998/1999 my dad paid 4,500 for a 97 ranger 4 banger/5 speed. Manual windows/locks. IDK if AC was an option but if it was that was the only option on that truck. It was used with 15-20k miles. I drove it to work last friday with 199k on it. It wont do 75 unless your going downhill but the dam thing is a tank. Too bad they wont make a stripped model. He needs to upgrade badly but wont pay for a new one.
