I can’t recall if I’d posted my thoughts earlier, but I cant stop thinking about a Gen 5 Viper. I love my ‘13, but am thinking about selling and getting GTC or GTS. Who else has done something similar?

I like the creature comforts and all around package the GT500 brings...however, the more I get into half mile racing the more I realize if you like making RWD American cars go fast then a Viper is hard to beat. I believe there was a silver one 1320 video covered that went 244 in the half mile, obviously that's an extreme build. But still..not many mustangs even going 200 in the half mile much less 244.

I guess it depends on what you do with the car really.

What Nick said! Viper all day. I've never owned one, but I've spent enough time here to know that everyone who has bought one loves their choice. No, the Viper doesn't have the comfort of a GT-500, but it's such a shot of pure adrenaline. Kind of like Terminator owners trying to explain why they prefer a 2003-2004 Cobra over a newer gen Mustang GT. You have to drive one to really understand their passion.

5th Gens are holding there value. Now is the time to get one. GT500 is a dime a dozen by comparison.

I have been saying for the last 4 years I'm going to buy a 5th gen viper. But somehow I keep buying 13/14 GT500s. I think the biggest reason why is money. I just don't make enough money to buy a 15,16 or a 17 viper. I did a nationwide search on cargurus and the cheapest 2015 viper I found was 74k. I guess it all comes down to how big your wallet is. But if you can afford it go for it. Vipers are badass. I would have hard time letting go of my current GT500. I love this car.

My buddy just traded his 2016 Viper GT for a 2017 ACR-E with 125 miles. I'm so jealous.

Guys, appreciate the responses and it appears many here would do the same. The question now is a.) should I return my ‘13 to stock, and b.) when can I afford to buy a Viper? Thanks!

Screw a viper !! Get motor work done to the GT500, and put a Kenny bell 4.7 on top and roll with over 1K horsepower

I truly love Vipers but would not replace my 2014 GT500 with one. Just my opinion, and perhaps could change some day. If I wanted a track car then maybe??? I would definitely replace my 2020 GT500 with one though, without any consideration whatsoever.
