I’m looking at k members and came across qa1’s new design. I’m just wondering if anybody has experience with them. I’m looking for something that can handle the twisties but mostly on the street and won’t break the bank.

The QA1 k member is drag race part that is much lighter than stock. However, the qa1 k member is also much weaker than stock and thus it will flex a lot more than the oem kmember and those are bad things to happen if the goal is to improve handling in the twisties and survive every day Street use.

The QA1 weighs 25 pounds and that is too light and not strong enough to put up with cornering and braking loads in a road race application.
On top of that, a k member has to hold up the weight of the motor and I don’t see a 25 pound light weight k member holding up under road race and street conditions .

on what are you basing this opinion? first hand experience? are you an engineer that has done the calcs to determine that it's not up to the challenge?

just because it's not heavy doesn't mean it can't perform. the oem part was designed to do a job and be easy to manufacture using stamping presses...it was not designed to be light weight.
