Just picked up one of my favorite Cobra's.... Teal 1993'

I ran across a guy last December that had a 1993 Teal Cobra that he bought brand new. I've worked on him since December to buy the car. I finally made the deal last Friday. Car has been garage kept and never driven in the rain. He had put seat covers on the front seats the first year he had the car. They were on the seats until I got the car home. First thing to come off!

Car has 15,000 original miles on it. It's completely bone stock except for the battery. Still even has the factory Goodyear Gatorbacks that are in great shape.

Took a couple quick pics. The guy that had the car is probably about 70 years old and didn't clean the car much. He did wax it several times over the years though. Evident by the multiple areas that he missed taking the wax off. lol

Hell yea. A buddy of mine and member on here found a teal/black 93 cobra with 27 miles on it. Sh1ts crazy they are still out there.

Yes it is crazy how many people actually buy a car and just leave them sit. I was at Mecum in Harrisburg last Friday and they ran 2 different 93' Cobras. One was my buddies car. It was also Teal but only had 11,000 miles on it. Car sold for $35,500 on the block which with buyers fees cost the buyer $39,000. I talked to the guy that bought the car. Said he's a Mustang nut and didn't have a fox body car yet. He said he had decided before the auction that he was going to stop at $27k. Well that didn't work out for him. They also sold a red one with 1,600 miles on it. The front bumper and rear spoiler were actually faded pretty good on that car. Other wise it was a nice car. Listed as a one owner garage kept Florida car. It did $36,500 which was $40,150 with the buyers fees.

So current value on these cars is pretty crazy. As a comparison there was a Boss 302 Laguna Seca car there. It only went up to $45,500 and didn't sell.

I'm more than ecstatic about it. I've always loved these cars. Wanted to buy one new but just couldn't justify the money. I have sold cars for a Ford dealership now for almost 33 years. So it just killed me watching people drive away with these cars new when I wanted one so bad. Fortunately I found someone that bought one and just basically sat on it.

I'm leaving it bone stock and probably won't drive it much at all. I only have 15,000 miles on my 03' Cobra that I bought new. So I don't take them out much.

The car sat in a garage but hasn't been cleaned or detailed for a long time. So I'll detail it from top to bottom. It's on the lift so I can start detailing the underside of the car and then work my way up. The guy had floor mats on top of the factory floor mats so the mats and the carpet are just like new. I'll take some interior and engine shots when I get time.

Awesome pickup on the Cobra. The 93 started my Cobra buying years. I looked for a new Teal one but it was too late in the year and all were gone. Bought a Red 93 from new and also was a 2nd owner of a 500 mile Cobra R. Absolutely love these year Cobras. My Cobra R came from central Pa. around Williamsport and its photographed in the Mustang SVT Cobra recognition guide. Have fun with that great Cobra.

We had an R in 93' but i think we sold it to someone from the Philly area. Lost track of that car.

So do you still have both?

Unfortunately I have neither one. My 93 was sold to a Ford technician in Pa. and I sold my 93R to a member here who has owned it for the last 18 years but I did see it for sale recently. That R was amazing and wish I could of kept it. Not enough garage space or extra cash to keep all of them.

I know the feeling. I've sold a few cars over the years for those exact same reasons and I regret it. I'm really torn with this car. One of my favorite Mustangs, but the way the market is right now I could turn the car and make some serious cash. So do I sit with 4 Mustangs and no extra garage space or turn the car and have a little room along with some cash....

I have been there over and over thru the years since my first hot rod. I am not a good judge of what to do because I was never able to keep and store some of the great rides I have owned.

But I do believe that the 93 Cobra you just picked up is a keeper. Its rare now and will be much more rare in the years ahead. But if you can turn the cash made into something just as nice or better it might be well worth it. A problem that I wish I had....lol.

Very true. The 60's muscle cars are still doing good numbers because the generation that admired those cars when they were you are still around. Now go back to the 50's and 40's cars and look how their values have been dropping. Probably due to the fact that their generation of admirers from those cars are mostly gone.

My 16 year old son that went to Mecum with me said.... "you know there aren't any ricer cars here.... and I'm glad". I told him to give it 20 years and thats what will be at the auctions and bringing good money.

My buddy that sold the teal one at Mecum only bought that car 2 1/2 years ago. He STOLE that car. He has a ton of collector cars and really only bought that car to turn. He's older so the fox body cars don't really have that much appeal to him.

I probably won't sell this car now unless a really attractive offer comes along.

I drove the car home and was shocked that it still drives like it is new. Even with 25 year old tires on it.

25 year old tires are a blow out waiting to happen. I'd hate to see you wreck that car.
