You see an innocent kid all sick and all and it really causes one to question religion, higher powers, etc.., and why these thing happen. Kids are just kids.

It really does sometimes, I haven't stepped foot into a church in years, but I have some faith that hopefully someone out there is listening. I remember one night after I had got home from the 11 hour drive from Memphis and we were home for 20 minutes and he had to be rushed to the hospital due to a fever. He ended up in the hospital for 17 days with 5 blood infections, the whole time I asked myself, why would any little kid would have to go through this. I remember sitting on the bed of the truck and breaking down alone, and asking God and every family member that had passed away to please find a way to get him through this.

Multiple people have said this is might be a "test" and it was seeing how much someone can endure, and "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" type of thing. I hope it's not a test and God is preparing me for something else. I don't think someone can go through something worse than this, but I do believe, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

The little guy sat in his own seat for the flight home. He had no care in the world and handled the take off good.

I’m telling you all. Hide your daughters. Anthony is comin and he’s gonna be stealin your girls right from you.
Plus he’s gonna be a bruiser so if you think you can step up to him he’ll just toss you aside like a bug.

Funny thing is, he already knows what taste in girls he likes. Small blondes. In Charlotte on of his nurses is a small blonde and he gets all excited to see her, he starts grabbing the crib rails and like flexes, haha. He does the same thing to one of the nurses in Memphis that is a small blonde.

I definitely think his older brother is going to be the smaller brother. Anthony’s moms side is all 6’4 or taller.

I was actually planning on updating tonight. We got some of the best news we have had in almost a year. His left eye is Cancer free, it is all dead, the right eye has 1 tumor left but his Dr. is not worried about it. We will finish this last round of chemo on Friday. Today was day 3 out of 5. He will return at the end of the month on the 28th and they should be removing his port and he will be able to have a normal life style again, no more meds, right now he has to take 12 different meds daily, no more worrying about running a fever and having to rush to a hospital, or worrying about him falling and his blood not being able to clot correctly. I can't wait to see him with a full head of hair.

It's still sinking in that this is almost finished. We have been so worried and stressed out the last 10 months and to know it's coming to an end is almost hard to believe a little. Anthony has been a trooper and like many others have said, "his strength and will to keep moving forward will inspire me". We have all been tested throughout this whole situation, but it has made me open my eyes, appreciate what I have so much more, and has taught me other life lessons, a long with my faith.

I really can thank you guys enough, for the prayers and support, keeping him in your thoughts and just caring. It really means a lot to know people out in the world do care about each other and have a genuine concern for others they have not even met in person.

Sometimes I go back at the start of this thread and look at all the pics and see how much he has grown, along with the progress of his fight. We have come a very long way, and I know it may sounds cliché but his battle was my battle.

2013gt'ed Congrats on the baby, enjoy every moment you got. Hopefully there is a thread of some pics, that we can browse around.

He wanted to come play basketball with his older brother and I.

Here are a couple of pics of Anthony today.

2013gt’ed you’re fine it didn’t come off as anything, I was wanting to update it earlier while he was receiving chemo but the pumps kept beeping and nurses were in and out.

How is everything on your end? Sounds like Owen is a good size baby. I don’t miss the sleepless nights. Time has flown by, I remember you just finding out you guys were expecting another and you picking up a explorer. I really wish the best for you guys.

Kevinatfms thanks for the package, when we get back to Charlotte and I have a day off I will grab a battery and make a video of the little man chasing the r/c car. He’s going to love it. Makes me kinda want to get back into the nitro cars, but it can be a expensive hobby.

It has been quite the trip and time has flew since you first posted on Anthony. Owen was born with no blood sugar which isnt unusual for large babies. One feeding and he was right as rain. Hes nig and cute, I need to resize the uhd phone pics so I can toss a few up here. I cannot begin to say I understand what you have went through with Anthony. But that little man winning this fight is just what everyone needed. Not sure if I put that right, but we need to see happy endings like this all over the news and in our lives everyday. Not just the bad...if you know what i mean.

We made it home, it was a long drive but he did good on the way home, his numbers are a little low, but it should be the last time we have to watch them drop. Anthony and his mom will be heading back to Memphis for his no more chemo party at the end of the month, I will have to miss it, but we’re going to have a big party here in Charlotte after his port is removed in September.

This kid is going to be a monster, he’s getting big. Here is a pic at his appointment yesterday.
