Also installed this SMR rear strut tower brace. I got it for a sweet deal a few years back and never got around to putting it on. It angles towards the front and runs parallel to back seats. This keeps from losing any trunk space. It doesn't bolt to the actual struts, the fenderwell just below it. I replaced the grade 5 bolts they sent with stainless ones to keep from rusting since the head is in the fenderwell. View attachment 1493340

Im not so sure this is beneficial to a coupe, but I could see an advantage on a vert.

I found that a very similar brace is used on Towncars. I pulled one off and it fit perfect on my 88 TurboCoupe. I may give one a try on my 97 vert.

^^^ I need to look into that for my vert.

As for what I did to her....Nothing, someone backed into her last friday and now it's at the body shop getting repaired, the suspense is killing me but I'm hoping it'll look just as good as before when I get it back. Soon as I get it back I gotta work on throwing these S197 seats in.

Nothing today, just walked around her while working on my work Civic. I put 1000 miles a week on the Civic and another 1000 miles a week on my Terrain. About every 3 months there each need a day of maintenance. 280k on the Civic, 125k on the GMC.

Changed the oil and installed my new hood. Took it for a drive and discovered yet another issue that needs attention.

Had I not bought the brace for $50 on sale I would have surely spent the money elsewhere. Like I said, all I really noticed was it pretty well did away with all the cricks and cracks noises in the rear area at low speeds my car made before the install. So it had to stiffen it up some I guess. But I will say if your interested, get the Steeda type that actually mounts to the top of the struts. That may have been why this kit was on sale....

New alternator and hood struts

Sent from my SM-G955U using the svtperformance.com mobile app

That's Funny, Saturday I replaced my Alternator too along with a new belt.

The alternator I bought less than a year ago started squealing, verified after removing the belt. Went ahead and got a continental belt and got rid of the Gates which could've also been contributing to my squeal.

Haven't heard any squealing from the engine since Friday now. Fingers Crossed.

Parked it, removed the wiper arms and antenna, locked it up, disconnected the battery, put the cover over it, and dropped the collision insurance for the winter.

Wow, kind of early to park it for the winter isn't it? With a car like yours I'd be keeping it out on the street as long as I could.....

Replaced the fuel filter. Pretty easy job, albeit a bit messy, as long as you can get the back end jacked up (backed it out from my garage onto ramp stands....had to put down some 2X10's to make sure the exhaust tips didn't catch ramps).
