I went to go see my mother in the hospital so it was a 9 hour drive, on the way home me and my 18 year old daughter got caught right in the middle of a tornado with my Raptor. It was so bad before we pulled over a semi trailer started to get pushed into our lane and missed my truck by inches then we pulled over and the tornado went over us, it blew out my back window and a ton of hail damage. We found out later there were 3 tornados by us. Now the drivers side did not get touched and the front clip is fine but the passenger side door and back door and back and roof is dented all to hell. With my Raptor being a 2013 fully loaded with 54k miles will it be totaled or what. What you are about to see hurts me very bad, this was my baby, me and my daughter are fine but my Raptor did not make it through ok, so will it be totaled or not, please give me your honest opinion. I only owe $15k on my Raptor right now.

Glad you made it through with no injuries. The truck is repairable. Good luck with the insurance company. Having work done is almost as stressful as the tornado.

That really sucks! However, you couldn't have asked for a better truck to be in when getting caught with a tornado! Keep us updated on how it all goes.

Do you think insurance with total my truck? I have no idea, and thanks guys I would not want this on anyone. It was very very scary and I did keep calm for my daughter, but I had to clean my shorts after.

I don't see how they could total that. It's a few dings. Just drive the truck there's nothing wrong with it.

I think it's going to be close, but it doesn't help that the Raptor retains it's value so well. All I know is in KS, if the damage exceeds 75% of the cars value, it will be considered totaled.

Just from the pics, I don't see a reason to total the truck. I see between $4000-$6000 as a guesstimate. That is far from totaled. Even if it is $10,000, it would not be a total loss.

Yea, no frame or major damage so doubtful you'll reach the threshold for a totaled truck.
Like @Revvv said, these trucks hold their value very well. Depending on miles, location and options, sure you truck still will pull over 40k via auction.

I do not want the truck totaled, I love this truck, I just do not want to pay like $80k for a new one, which if they did total it I will get a new one but I do not want that.

I'm going to go against the grain and say the decision to total or not to total will be a close one. Collectively, that's a lot of body damage.

Probably easier to replace panels then to repair all those dings. Either way it will need a full paint job.

Glad you came through it okay. Would not have taken much to have flipped it.

not at my post...
That's pretty extensive hail damage, but given the value of Raptor's, I doubt it meets the threshold to be totaled out. Good luck with the insurance company!

Glad all are ok.

If they do write it off but it back fix the window and drive it.

That’s a hell of a story and you got the proof!

My buddy's new 2018 F150 was in a nasty hail storm yesterday. Luckily, my house was spared but he had windows broken, roof destroyed, just like a tornado went through. I'm glad everybody is ok with these crazy storms. Here's a pic of his truck... and he thinks he will get a new roof and hood with some body repair done. The truck still drives perfect.

damn dude, most importantly i'm glad you and your daughter are ok.

as for the Raptor- great excuse to upgrade to the Gen2 (i did so voluntarily and am glad i did)...in my personal opinion, i doubt they will total it.

PDR is amazing these days. Not sure if the insurance company will go that route or not. I can see the tailgate getting replaced. The rest should be fixable. Good luck and glad to hear you guys are ok.

I appreciate all your input and your thanks that me and my 18 year old daughter are ok, I have to drive the jacked up truck 6 hours next week to take her to college. I won’t get the truck in tell October to get fixed the shops are that backed up, I get the rear window replaced on Monday, and take it down on Wednesday to get estimate of repair, just makes you frustrated, I took very good care of this truck and I would not want a different one.
