What I meant was.....will Ford tell the dealer what was wrong with it.....I never expected the wrenches at the dealership to open it up!!

Very unlikely. Ford engineering will likely get the motor back, tear it down and look for reasons the engine was consuming so much oil. With the number of similar complaints seen on this forum, my guess is....they already know in most cases what's causing the issue. Good that they are standing behind the warranty, but not so good when it comes to the hassle/down time required to get it fixed.

Only thing I was told, was to keep it under 4000 or so rpm and bring it back in a 1000 miles. And of course if something wasnt right, to come back.

Break in period of a new engine. My dealer suggested 1000 miles.

Pretty much for the 1st 1000 miles you keep it @ or under 4k rpm to give everything in the motor time to seat properly before beating on it.

hahahah...sorry guys, I couldn't resist. I love break in discussions about as much as a good oil discussion!

good to hear!!
I'm breaking in a second GT350. I took the first out for a 300 mile run down the highway "150 each way" at variable speeds. It was beaten on in moderation after that and I had no oil consumption issues. 2500 miles when moved into my second one. I have about 800 miles on my second one that has seen 7200 pm a few times. Deep stick still shows full.
