if the bushings aren't needed to reduce shock load, why not replace them with a soft metal like aluminum?
Because it strips the tribar threads right out.

Exactly!

I believe little to no cushion will kill the drive assembly.

I was hoping waffleman would come through after a year of having one of my spare 4lbs to design a better setup off of but it doesn't look like its happening.

He's now deciding to go turbo so we're sol. I'll get the pulley and drive back then maybe get back on this project.

Block plug used, drill out square hole DO NOT make hole the size of snout studs, bevel edge with sanding place face down into pullie, use press to insert plug, then use press on snout to lock in place on plugs DO NOT use in lube.

Whats everyone do as far as reinstalling the tribar onto the center section? Like how tight?

If you're installing one of Mike's locking plates then you need to follow instructions on getting it clocked correctly to line up after tightening. If you're not just give it a good snug, nothing crazy. Then engine's rotation will tighten the heck out of it for you. Possibly even over tighten and strip all the threads if you have a big blower :)

Ya no locking plate so I just snugged it down.

My spare came off an Eaton car, go that apart with my impact. Same procedure didn’t work on the one I took off my car. Go figure right.

What about installing it back on the car? How tight should you torque the big allen bolt to?

I just give it a good snug with my breaker. Not like cranking on it or anything. Might equate to like 80-100ftlbs or something. The engine tightens the shit out of it.

Mine is for sale $975 shipped

WaffleMan, this is the 4lb. 8-rib setup correct?
And does the tri bar assembly have a crack (it looks like it put could be just pic playing tricks on me)?
How are the threads?
Any issues or just planning to go turbo if you don't mind me asking?
I want to pretty much duplicate your old setup with the latest gen TVS package on e85. I assume this is still the most popular blower "bang for buck" setup on stock termi.

Yes this is one of cj428machs first run of lowers. There is no crack it’s just a little sharpie mark. No issues with the unit at all, I did go turbo is the reason it came off.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm somewhat of posting newbie so not sure what the process is to buy this from you but consider it SOLD!

Also, any tips on putting this thing together and replacing bushings would be appreciated (ie. replace bushing while installed). Does the below post cover cj428machs first run of lowers?
Basic Disassembly can be seen in post #159
Assembly and Clocking of the Drive Assembly is in post #279

80a bushing material still the way to go on any replacements?

Bearing is also serviceable correct?
