Bicentennial quarters probably have over hundred dollars worth rolled up in various conditions. I work retail so it's easy to find. Along with them I look for any kind of silver coins/rare coins. Usually only find the silver but every once in a while find an old. Buffalo head nickel or mercury dime.
Years ago I used to walk into a bank with 50 or so bucks and ask for rolls of quarters or half dollars. I'd take them home and open them and every once in a while find a silver one. Kind of fun.

Collected sports cards (football mostly) when younger. Got back into it again about 10 years ago. It’s all about knowing the right stuff to get its condition and it needs to be graded by a reputable 3rd party grader (psa or BGS) to be worth much unless you are sitting on a 1952 topps Mickey Mantle somewhere. Good thing I got into it when I did. I wouldn’t be able to afford a lot of the cards I have now. They have gone up significantly in value over the last 5 years. Just check the eBay auctions. Some of my highlights. Looking at about $24K below at current market prices in recent auctions. My 3 year old will probably end up with them someday.

I have multiples of all the 70's ones you show there and tons more some older as well. Is there a source of how to go about getting the right ones graded and how to turn them into money? Thanks.

There’s a few things I’ve kept from my childhood. I have a decent size yugioh card collection, maybe close to 10k cards, if not more. Some cards are rare and in good condition, but I haven’t really looked into their value. Other childhood stuff is Gundam’s and DBZ figures. It’s a very small collection but there are some that are valuable. One in particular I had 2 of and I sold one of them a few years ago for over $200.
Then currently I’ve been collecting old money, diecasts, cars, and car parts.

I am kind of all over the board.... A few highlights:

I like rugs: 1930's Persian family saruke oriental rug (grandma bought it new in the 1930's), 1950's Karastan wool rug, and a couple other Karastans in the collection.
Huge Waterford Crystal cut glass collection (many different items) highlighted by a 1930's Waterford crystal chandelier
Pretty good sized cranberry glass collection (most from the late 1800's / to mid century)
Various crystal stem-ware highlighted by a set of Purple crystal wine goblets with clear air twist stems
Various clocks including a 1970's Atmos, early 1900's German Westminster mantle clock, early 1900's wall clock
I like wrist watches, have a few in the $250-$2,000 range
a pretty nice RC car collection (nitro and electric onroad / offroad 4 total)
Various artwork highlighted by a old French war painting that was appraised at very nice value by a appraiser
WWI / WWII rifle, sword, and uniforms (from Dad and Grandfather)
I like collecting various pices of home / car audio gear
A formidable stamp collection that needs to be gone through / organized
Small coin collection with a lot of silver dollars from the late 1800's to early 1900's

And a lot more. With a lot of this stuff I don't out looking to collect, as I just don't have the time, but I would consider this stuff part of "my collection".

With a newly remodeled house it's been a lot of fun integrating my Antiques with modern decor.

I would love to see a pic of your collections. I bet your rugs are beautiful. I have a friend like that. He has lots of Roseville pottery and nice artwork. I just love to sit and look at everything. He's done it so tastefully.

I have bits and pieces of things - some depression glass, beautiful crystal that stays in the Killough family. I'm not blood, just married into it, but I'm taking care of it until the grandkids are old enough. I really don't think my son wants it.

Coins.

I really like them but as it turns out I'm exceedingly bad at finding anything rare. If a coin passes through my hands, I look at it but anymore the oldest stuff you get is mid-80s it seems. I've gone through both my coin jars and my fiancees and found nothing worth keeping aside from different currencies, which I keep those too.

I always thought it was stupid to spend money on old coins but I ended up buying a 7 pack of wheat pennies that included a steel penny some years back. I also bought a shipwreck coin for $20. I thought I overpaid because it was in Grand Cayman but I found the same coins selling for $27 not too long ago and mine looks a lot better.

This makes me kind of jealous but I am not going back to retail lol.

Cars, why else would i spending time on this forum (ha ha)?

Post a pic of the collection :D

I focus on rifles manufactured at Springfield Armory since I am local and had relatives that worked there before and after WW2, a few Springfield Garands with one that I got thru the DCM in unmolested condition mfg in Jan 44, the height of production, they were making 4000 a day.....

I always had a poker chip or two left over from trips I throw in my golf bag and use as ball markers. Never intended to collect them but friends started to send them to me after noticing. It just sort of happened.
