The AMX mention above made me remember some cars my wife had that I wish she would've kept. She had an AMX Javelin when she was young, and she had an S2000. Her dad had a '69(?) Mach 1 that would've been nice to get handed down.

'86 T-Bird Elan 5.0
Previous owner put a considerable amount of money into the car. Baer brakes, full Bose sound system, new paint job. Body had 50,000 miles, 5.0 had only a few thousand if I remember correctly. With the exception of some very minor fading on the front fascia headlight panel, the car was pristine. Bought it for $300. Put $150 into it. Sold it to a friend for $450.

This one still haunts me. I put $40k into the thing (on top of purchase price) to turn it into a 8s street car. The only things left to do were brakes, transmission, and underbody coating. Mostly full interior. Without going into details, it was sabotaged twice (if the buy who bought it reads this, I never lied, and everything that was sabotaged was my loss, not yours). I put it for sale after getting the transmission rebuilt and had several buyers lined up. First guy with cash gets it. A guy from PA was supposed to pick it up on July 10th for $18k. He never showed up, then called me and said his accountant told him "no." I reached out to the other buyers and they all said they already blew the money elsewhere. It left on a trailer 7/21, a few days before I moved to SC, and I sold it for $10k 3 months later because I was desperate after the job I moved for was filled while I was moving. I still owed $1500 on a personal loan I took out to finish the build in '11. Guy who bought it had the transmission rebuilt properly, cranked the boost, made 1190rwhp. He sold it for $20k to someone in Kuwait. Poor thing :(

Worst part is, in early 2009 it had the stock engine with a KB 2.1 on top, 4.10's, other goodies. It could run mid 11's all day long and was perfectly streetable. My father told me "leave it alone." Had I listened...

I wish I still had it, because 7 years later (almost to the day) I now would have had the means to make it a nasty street car.

Now is your chance to buy it back. Leo has it up on eBay... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-Ford-Mustang-Cobra-R/253762613669?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

The last time I seen it in person was at a car show at the Ford WHQ, it still looked to be in good shape.

Thanks for the heads up. Talked to Leo recently and I know he was looking at other vehicles to buy. Did not know he was looking to sell the 93R. Hope is able to move it pretty fast. Its a great car.

If I had gobs of money like some here do I would buy it back from Leo and stick it away. But I don't and need to finish my house first before I get into another GT500 soon.

My black coupe 03 cobra. I bought it with 4 thousand miles on it. Sold it with 7k for the same price. Became pretty close friends with the guy who bought it so it kinda worked out as the car to this day only has 10k on the clock. I miss my 89 saleen also. It was the white with gold stripes #142. Turned out the car was 1 of 11 in that color combo. There's no chance I'll ever get that car back as I found it while browsing on instagram. The ****er shipped it to kuwait!

1999 Jeep Cherokee 4.0. Bought it with 90k in college and sold it with 330k. To this day, best vehicle ever. I will get another one some day as a toy.

1995 Mustang GTS. Had it in HS. Loved that car. It was simple and ran great, H/C/I gear and full exhaust. Sold it to my GF’s cousin at the time and he totaled it in a year.

Regret selling my 91 Skyline GTR. One of the best handling cars I’ve ever driven.
Bought it specifically to flip for a profit though and did almost double my money. Money that was needed to buy my 17 GT350 which is pretty bad ass too.
