I’ve seen discussions about it before here but I’m looking for a program or spread sheet that I can enter in my take home pay and track my spending from there. Monthly bills, some credit debt to pay, something a little more user friendly then the pen and paper I’ve been using in the past year or so lol.

With a son due in August and having just bought a house and car this year I’d like to make sure I tighten up my budget where I can to make room for other amenities we want and quickly pay off what little credit debt I have after a deck build we are in the midst of.

Thabks in advance!

Mint works well, unless you get paid at the end of the month, like me.

Other than that, the goodbudget app seems to be pretty good.

I wrote my own in Excel. It also encrypts passwords for me so I don't have to remember all 594 passwords and logins for every freakin' account I've ever had.

Mint is also good

If you want something simple to set up and simple to use, I recommend Mint. And, it's free! They also offer a free mobile app.

I have a really good one that I just got for excel. It wouldn’t let me post it but if you shoot me a pm with your email I’ll send it over.

I go through the bank account online and tag each item using the dropdown menu. It does a good job and at the end of the year we print a full report of where we spent what.

It does however require you to break credit card payments up if you want to track really good.
It doesn't cost anything extra for that but takes a few more minutes.
We pay everything off each month so if I buy 5 items on a CC then I make 5 payments for the amount that each was and tag it accordingly.

I also am a big fan, and user if Mint.
The app works great, and also have alot more options using it through a PC as well.

It was a huge process to get it setup to use as it's meant to be used , Actually took me roughly 3 days of getting all my debt account numbers and entering , verifying info, etc... but as for keeping all my bills organized, it's awesome.

Once it's synced to my accounts, Mint will automatically always update your new balance for an account every month it's neat.

I use my bank to pay the bills as my bank will accept most bills and notify me and I simply have bank to pay them online. All bills and payments are downloaded into Quicken- which I have used for 15-20 years. All investments download into quicken but the investment section has quirks I haven't figured out...so I used the as a round about number. Examle- 457 current value...CDs etc.
