There isn't enough data out yet to draw a good conclusion on the 2.65. I would like to see if the IAT sensor is the same depth as it is on the 2.3. If it is, I would like to know why. That is one thing that I am very curious about.

This is a badass blower, it has made over 1000whp on both Coyotes and GT500s boost only. There is no reason why it will not do so on a Terminator once turned up. This compressor is moving a fixed amount of air per revolution. The amount of air compressor can move is hardly dependent on the motor. A smaller less efficient motor will see higher boost pressures.

Forget making the same hp as a GT500 and Coyote. My magic number was only 800hp. I wouldve been happy with it and called this a success.

Considering the 2.3 was making over 700 and up to 750 in some cars, I think the 800hp was not too much to ask of this blower. Time will tell how well these blowers are. I’m still in some sort of denial that it only made low 700s tho.

The IAT senor was address in the gen 3 blower. They mentioned it on one of their burnout box episode when they released it.

If I were them I wouldn't have released this video or the numbers. They are aware they are having ignition issues after 6k. Might be 20-40hp left in there.
No reason to hide it. I've had issues on the dyno too. I'm curious to see how others do with the blower. It takes more than one data point to come to a good conclusion.

This is why I am thinking of the LFP intercooler, 13-14 GT500 HE, and the J2 or Cobra Engineering inlet/outlet upgrade for the intercooler on my car.

what are the benefits of the lfp intercooler? i agree with you an a gt500 h/e and j2fab flow mod, just not sure of the lfp cooler.

back to the thread topic. there is going to be a point where the 4.6 (stock) just cant make any more hp. i believe the gen 3 is a better blower and flows more but how much more can the 4.6 take. the gen 2 2.3 is a GREAT match with a stockish 4.6. clearly the gen 3 2.65 sees bigger gains on teh coyote and gt500 set ups because those engines are much more efficient and more advanced. give the 2.65 some time and folks will be making some good gains with more mods

The LFP inter cooler is supposed to be better. I plan on keeping the stock one and trying the LFP to see how it goes.

As far as the limit of the 4.6, guys are making four digit power with the 4.6 in stock trim.

I want to see a few cars with the 2.65 before I have an opinion on them. There are countless reasons why it could not be working on the car they are trialing.

True but anything they release is advertising. Guess I don’t know why they didn’t diagnose the problem, make a repair and redyno

i know the limits (or lack of) the cobra 4.6. i also know you cant just slap a big blower on it and make crazy power. i also believe the 2.65 has the capabilities to be great but it needs to get in the hands of guys that are going to spin it and put it on the right combo to shine.
i learned something a long time ago that is the most true thing ive ever heard when it comes to modding cars: it doesnt matter what parts you have it matters on the combo as a whole

Well its the last business day in June, it'll be interesting to see if the preordered 2.65's begin to ship like VMP says.

my takeaway from this is this: if you already swapped from your stock blower and want more power, go turbo.

that is all.

I think you are correct. I could pick up a couple PSI doing a vmp w/ a 4lb lower but I doubt it will be drastically different.

I've had a turbo fox so I know what the difference is.

I should probably just do that and keep my blower stuff in case I sell down the road.
