I went with an Aluminator longblock, right before the switch Gen 2 Coyotes. Got in while they could be had for $7,500 and sold my stock engine with 8,000 miles on it for $4,000. All said and done I had about $4000 in my swap. This is my 4th year with it, making as little as 710 rwhp and now in the mid/upper 800's as I've added more boost from last year.

Mine is 99% street. It's turned up all the time. Sees weekend use. Gets wot every time I'm in it, but it's mostly a second gear pull.

I am currently saving for a replacement. Just to have at the ready if/when something happens. I don't plan to go further than here though, so who knows, maybe it has a long life ahead of it? I just wanna be prepared in case it does come apart.

So looking at your sig, you're deep into the 9's with this aluminator? If so that's pretty damn good. You might investigate, as I've heard some earlier Aluminators from Ford never received the billet oil pump gears, hopefully that's false, and hopefully yours is equipped with them.

how do you like it, how were they to deal with? Lotsa horror stories floating the web about them, but realize how quickly bs can spread.

I bought the car with it already installed. It's the equivalent of the MMR-1200 with a 10.5/1 compression ratio. I've put about 14K miles on it, about 7K boosted around 625rwhp. Runs great.

I've heard some of the internet horror stories too, fortunately I got a good one.

i found a cheap blown f150 engine, sent the block off to Darton/RED for sleeves. Then had a local guy machine shop assemble short block, resurface/rebuild heads. then sold my stock short block with heads attached (took cams/roller/followers out) and assembled my new setup with that.

cost a bit of money, but since i have a twin kit, i figured i was pushing my stock motor quite a bit (~825 actual wheel, 1010 sae) i had better just do sleeves/ibeams/upgraded wrist pins and be able to hold almost anything.

I'm still on stock longblock. Just switched to E85 so should be around 725whp. We'll see if she holds.

I went with a 2017blong block with opgs amd cs. It put my mind at ease at the 700/630 im making now, but wouldnt you know it, im at the point where i again want more and to do that safely, i think i need a built sleeved block. I will most likely go with whatever builder runs the best deals during a cyber monday or memorial day blowout.

I have a Livernois 1000hp short block in my 12 car and it has 800 to the tires. The engine has been in since 2012 and so far is doing great. It sees almost no street time "maybe 500 miles per year" and a few track outings each year. The car only has 14k total and runs 9.40s at 145 to 149 with 1.37 60s. Livernois says they have cars pushing much more power than me with this engine.

I'd agree that a forged bottom would be good for you, but that would buy you another 200whp, or at least another 150 without the cost of a sleeved set-up.

It was in the car when I bought it. But, that was back in 2012 so I'm sure the price has gone up. The oil pump gears are done as well.

but then you run into the same problem. I say buy the engine that will be safe at your max effort of your power adder.
