ABS light stuck on

Okay so I recently put 18 inch wheels on my car and the previous wheels were the 17 inch stock wheels. Since I have put on the larger wheels anytime I hit about 50 mph the ABS light comes on and so does the Traction Control Off light. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Also does anyone know how to reset the speedometer? Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure the ABS system only compares the relative speed between the wheels along w/a table that has a maximum deceleration an "idea" tire can make (e.g. a tire can't decelerate from 30 to 0 in 1s). Do you have the same size tires on all four corners? I've heard that if the diameters of the front tires are too different than the rear tires the ABS system can think something is slipping. And by resetting the speedometer, are you talking about correcting the error? Most handheld tuners have the ability to change the tire diameters and/or gear ratios. Or you can get something like a SpeedCal.

For my it was the abs control module that's bolted to the side of the abs pump. I found a company online and sent it in. And it's been working fine for years

I have 305s in the rear and 255s in the front. How could I go about fixing the ABS issue? I have a tuner that I can reset the speedoometer with.

I'm guessing the circumference difference between your front and rear tires is too large and when you reach 50+ mph the ABS system thinks something is skidding/spinning. Not sure how to fix that other than finding tires that are closer in circumference. I think a tuner can only correct your speedometer error due to a rear tire diameter/circumference change or a gear change -- not a front to rear tire diameter/circumference difference. Someone else may know more about tuner capabilities. I recommend talking w/the place you purchased the tires. Maybe they have a different aspect ratio for the front (or rear) tires that would better match the others (255/50/18 vs. 255/45/18 -- which one matches your rear tire circumference?). Good luck!

And I agree w/UncleSAm if your ABS was on all the time, not just 50+ mph. I sent mine in when one of the connections went bad and it's been working fine.

I got some things sorted out an figured out that the speedometer is actually running slightly slower than my actual speed so thats good. And I did some looking and figured out that the 35 front sidewall and the 40 rear sidewall are causing the ABS issue so I called Discount Tire and they are trying to get me a new set for the rears.

I think I used Cheap ABS.
CHEAP ABS Module Repair for Ford Mustang Taurus Crown Victoria and Mercury Sable
The biggest issue was getting the module out without messing with the plumbing, which you don't want to do. There is a thread somewhere on how to properly remove the module. As a start, it is under the OEM air filter. You will need to remove and loosen some stuff bolted to the frame from under the vehicle.

Here is a YouTube video on the removal. You might get a little seasick looking at it since the author didn't use a GoPro but it is better than nothing.
