I vote go test drive the other cars. I plan to go test drive a 15 up Z07 and a charger hellcat one of these days.

Wonder if they will let me if I show up in my $1300 Focus:rolleyes:

I am from the Edmonton area and saw your car on Kijiji, looks awesome!

I have both an 04 2.8kb cobra and a 14 zl1 camaro. The camaro is stock and I have almost zero interest in driving the cobra after getting the zl1. The zl1 is a nicer car to drive. I have kids also and use the zl1 as a family car with car seats in full time. The zl1 isn’t as fast in current form but I don’t race them anyway.

Drive a zl1 and CTS-v and see what you think. The cobra is a very cool car and I would have a tough time letting it go but if I could only have one it would be the zl1.

My main reason for wanting to sell is the next round of mods would be a built motor and a 4r70w or 6r80. Car has a gen 2 tvs and makes 655rwhp on c16 (safe tune) I’m just not sure if I want to spend more money on it or get into something newer and more family friendly. My wife doesn’t want our 2yr old in my car cause she feels it’s too loud for him and I’m starting to be more of a dad and thinking about safety of the cobra not cause I’d ever drive like a-hole with my boy in it but if someone were to run into us I’m not sure if it’s safe as a newer car. Not sure? Just looking for opinions.
Thanks

I don't plan on ever selling mine. If I get a 3 stall garage built in the future I'll hopefully add another car.

I just got back from a cruise, no luck getting traction in 2nd gear. Normally not much of a problem lol. The car doesn't bore me one bit. Not sure on power, probably in the 700 rwhp range.

I'd say at least test drive the V. My mom's husband has a wagon. I think it's a 14. It's the supercharged one. Lots of power and a comfortable ride.

FWIW, I drove my 01 as a daily for 7 or 8 years. I have two kids and they loved riding in it. I thought they were going to get me arrested once, but that's another story. But it was fun to see the pissed off soccer moms and jealous minivan dads when I dropped my kids off at school. A D1 singing with Borla Stingers will get some attention.

i shuttle my kids around in my terminator...go pick up groceries in it too. my youngest always wants me to go faster lol.

i've considered getting rid of it, but then i try to imagine whatever other car i'd get that would still have "that special something" about it when it's 15 years old. i don't think most super high tech new cars will even be on the road in 15 years, much less still be interesting. the current mustang gt, camaro, corvette are relevant right now....but they won't be when the next new thing comes along. terminators are just kind of timeless, which is something that very few cars can lay claim to. IMHO of course.

at the end of the day, you gotta go with whatever turns you on the most...if that turns out to be a POS chevy, maybe you just aren't cut out to be a terminator owner...

Feel the same way. Car still puts a smile on my face and I'm close to stock. Great platform to build power on and a car I hope I can share building on with my boys.

Personal experience with selling beloved cars -

If you are worried about regret, you will regret it.
It's time to sell when you have not the slightest hint of regret.

I had a 350Z, loved the car but decided I wanted a Tacoma, traded it in, never once looked back with regret.
I had a fully built 240sx, owned the car for 12 years. Painted it twice, swapped engines 3 times, on and on. Just got sick of it. Sick of the endless project, disappointment and BS. Sold it - No Regret.

I regret selling my 911, I regret selling my '96 GT. I regret buying my Terminator, but I'm not ready to sell it yet.

Personally, I'd hold onto the Cobra buddy! Having seen it in person I know how dang clean it is and well put together. I think you will definitely regret it if you are already undecided on whether you want to part with it or not.

I am by no means bored with my Cobra but I wanted something fun to drive as a daily instead of my truck all the time so I picked up a Marauder! What a damn blast this car is! Nothing compared to newer cars, especially a CTS-V or ZL1 but it's plenty fun for a daily and gets A LOT of attention lol.

I can see this. Towards the end my 01 Cobra was a constant head ache. I was glad to get rid of it. I do miss it at times because I miss the beast side of it. But I never miss the broken side.

I had a 70 fastback back in high school. I kept it until I was 28 when I got into late models. My mom asked me if I ever missed it and was very surprised when I said no.

Don’t worry buddy if it sells tomorrow, I’m dealing on a GT500. I will build better, nicer, faster car than what I have now. I know I’ll miss it but I’m ready for something different because if I keep it, it’s getting a 6r80 auto and a built motor but that’s big money which is why I want something newer I think? Lol

A few weeks ago my niece was driving her 05 Mustang GT and it died while taking off from a stop light. It threw 2 codes for the drive by wire throttlebody.......I'm glad my Cobra is all mechanical, and its stuff like this that helps insure I'll stay a Cobra owner.

Get rid of a truck. I think you said 2 trucks and the cobra. Why not make it 1 truck, 1 cobra and 1 cts-v.

Truck is your DD and hauls anything.
CTS-v is your luxury performance sedan
Cobra is your drag strip, cruising, camaraderie car.

Well I had real money offered today for the car and I chickened out. Keeping the cobra, doing a 6r80 swap and a nardo grey wrap to change it up. The more I think about it the more I need to keep it.
Thanks for all the replies everyone. Terminator stays with me!

Haha if you knew how often I get different trucks you’d be blown away. I’m on my 4th duramax in 2yrs and no lie my 5th gm Short Box reg cab since November. I don’t wreck shit or buy junk either just buy an sell stuff when I get board. My wife actually thinks I have a real addiction problem with vehicles. But my current trucks are good and I’ll keep them for a while now. The terminator will stay with me too. Just gonna keep building it.
