Datalog Knock Timing Retard Fuel Issue?

I recently bought a new laptop so I could actually data log my 11 GT again. MY old one was still running XP and was giving me a hard time. This is the first time I data logged the car. Any way, basic bolt ons no power adders. I noticed that a positive knock starts to happen as the RPMS increase I was wondering if this could be caused by a fuel issue.

I was looking at the data log in Excel.

Is this a base tune or what? you have a serious amount of knock through the whole pull, any chance the exhaust is hitting anything?

-Base Tune -no revisions- I sent the Data logs over to Bama.

-91 octane race Bama tune.

- Ill jack the car up and see what I can do.

-Also the thermostat is opening up at around 183 degrees not 170 like its suppose to.

It only knocks on the full throttle pull. During the 1500,2000,2500,3000,3500,4000 RPM part throttle step test I had 0 knock. To me it looks like the fuel leans out if I'm reading it right.

-J&M caster camber plates have popping noise
-Spherical bearings in suspension parts pop
-Raspy exhaust

The car is loud.

I'm currently troubleshooting a similar issue with Lund Racing.

First thing my tuner had me do was go out and buy a can of VP Octanium octane booster. Helps rule out bad gas. If the car still has a lot of knock, then you can start looking elsewhere.

Wow your even running colder plugs and still getting all that knock, I mean not for nothing but the first thing I would change on your setup is that garbage tune before you blow up cylinder 8, and your definitely leaving power on the table with a Bama tune on your pretty max effort NA setup. Also why are you only revving to 7K on a CJ setup, should be going to at least 7800 (once you fix your knock issue)

Stock oil pump drive gears still. The timing retard. You can feel it. Does not feel like its making additional power as the RPMS rise at this time.

I was planning on L&M intake cams and putting some MMR parts in. Although, I want the car to run the way it is at the moment.

-Shawn Fisher has been pretty helpful and patient with me in the past do to other issues. So far I have not had any complaints with the Bama tune. Ill see what they say and go from there.

-Im gonna go jack the car up and check exhaust bolts. Throw some octane booster in it and give it another go.

I have a 13 stock OPG and CS as well, Ported CJ setup and rev to 8100 (8250 Limiter) without any issues, but again I doubt Bama has figured out how to you let you rev that high without cams reverting back to zero. But yeah try the octane booster for the heck of it and definitely check the exhaust for rubbing especially with headers.

okay I checked the exhaust. Off course it was a little loose like always. Cranked it down. No rubbing. Sounds better now.

Okay, So I filled the tank up with 93 octane at BP like I always do a and got a can of that VP Octane Booster and put in it. All I can say is WOW. Amazing what some octane booster can do. Exhaust sounds cleaner, runs smoother.

I data logged it again in a different location. Lost some traction for a less then half second in third gear when the road dipped slightly. This was a uphill pull. Not many good locations around here.

I have not reviewed the data log yet. SO that is what I'm going to do now.

I'm very pleased with the results now. Amazing what some octane booster can do.

Sent the 2nd data log over to BAMA That way they can do their thing.

Log looks much better, either the exhaust being loose was messing with it or it was the fuel. You even gained about 15HP according to your maf/lbs

My local Shell station was having bad fuel. I thought it was good until my logs got reviewed and a friend has having issues too. We swapped to a new station and now all is good!

Glad you got the issue figured out.

data logged the car again just with 93 octane no additives. I think the fuel trims need work. Still waiting on Bama to reply to my datalogs I sent them. I start getting knock when the fuel trims start dropping by what it looks.

I looked at a few things. Doesn't look all that bad. +1 on your knock sensor near 6500. When the knock sensor goes +1, your air to fuel ratios are only .1 off between banks and fuel trim only has a .03 difference.

Wish my datalogs looked at clean as that.
