So i took my car to work thursday to show it off, got to watch lots of people Google over it knowing its not a regular mustang but unsure what they were looking at. Any ways drive the long way home park the car and before bed i go and pu the cover on the car and see its sitting on the rim.

I take the tire off and run to the tire shop and nobody will touch them they say they are too far gone! Really didnt want to purchase new tires this year :( any one else been in this situation? Recommendations? They were a sumitomo 315/35/17 i didnt buy these and (there pretty bald) i dont get much for traction unless its smokin hot and in 4th gear. Were these tires good and worth rebuying in their prime?

Tire guy tried to sell me nito 555 g2's i think at 294CAD Per.

Thanks in advance!

Sumitomos suck. I had them on my 01 that had some work done and a Vortech. Punched it on a roll once and ended up in the other lane.

If they're bald you dont have a choice on replacing them. It all depends on your budget. I'm a fan of Nitto 555R's for the rear. They're not too expensive and hold well on the street. I recently took off a pair of G2's. I got tired of spinning into 3rd.

Where is the puncture? If it's not in the sidewall can't you just roll the dice and plug it?
its in the middle, scared to roll the dice and have it bow while accelerating or something. probably gonna plug it just so i can take the car to the tire shop.
whole thing sucks, i didn't want to buy new tires until i had enough to get rid of these rims. Not sure i have much choice now

Yeah, I'd say the G2's are better than the Sumitomos. I don't know if it helps, but I bought my 315 555R's for $320 (USD) shipped off eBay during one of the sales. I think they're doing it again right now.

If the tire is almost bald I wouldn't repair it personally.

Never pay money for Sumitomos...ever.

I currently have G2s front and rear, I love them other than the noise...they roar and have quite a bit of road noise for me, but not as bad as the Sumitomos did. I find they're actually pretty sticky in warmer weather, and not bad as far as traction in the wet if you're driving conservatively.

I had a patch come loose and the tire on my wife's F-150 went flat.

Took it to get repaired. They said the inside of the tire was "buffed" too much during the last repair and they couldn't repair it.

I said just patch it as I didn't want to buy one new tire.

Guy said buy a $300 tire or risk a blow out and lose a 30K truck.

I bought the tire.

I believe a lot of tires CAN be repaired, but with everyone being sue happy a lot of tire places don't want to fix flats anymore. Or they're trying to make money and would rather you buy a new tire instead of fixing your old one.

Nice the tire places where i live do free tire repairs if you buy from them. But yeah i can see why most company's wont repair worn tires. The inside of my back left was pretty worn so im going to get an alignment done as well to make sure that doesnt happen with the g2s.
Any one know what to expect km wise on a set? I dont think it really matters i might put on 1500km a year in a Canadian summer haha

LOL I picked up a nail on a $400 drag radial at 400 miles. Discovered that they cant patch them. I just kept an eye on it and it never lost air in almost 2yrs. By then they were bald as **** at 2500 miles.
