I'm willing to bet this was not suicide, a man that could not only pick any piece of ass of his choosing with his cooking ability regardless of his ugly ass something smells fishy... He wouldn't hang himself.

Maybe he got over his head in debt with someone.

Did he teach you not to speak ill of the dead or did he also teach you why you don't speak ill of the dead?

Some of the comments in this thread are interesting, given the fact that none of us knew him as a person outside of what he was willing to show us via TV shows and books he wrote. That being said, any one who has followed him over the years would know that he had a troubled past, various addictions, bouts of depression, numerous marital issues, etc. This is all evidenced in his own words from his shows and books. At the end of the day, he was one of the most outspoken, opinionated, no nonsense, no BS individuals out there who; to many came off aggorgant. To me, he was a man who didnt care what people thought of him or if he was liked, etc and lived his life the way he saw fit. Overall, he seemed like a down to earth realist, who got big doing something he loved and fought for his entire life. At the end of it all, he went out the way he wanted to, and regardless of our opinions on him as a person, his life/work, he has changed the lives of many individuals by simply being himself to the fullest. He will be missed, and the industry will forever be changed because he was involved it, and that is something no one can take away. Just my $0.02.

RIP. His episode with the psychologist/psychiatrist was pretty telling re: his severe depression.
Saying someone suffers from depression is like saying they're having trouble walking, is it the result of a sprained ankle, or did they just survive a roadside bombing... the range/severity of depression is just as broad.

He was a member on here, possibly. Someone registered with his full name years ago. I sent a PM at the time. He was a mustang fan.

He allegedly had interesting Twitter and Instagram accounts
I liked his early stuff where his on screen persona was this eclectic, out of the box chef then ( again, on screen) he started coming off as an arrogant douche.
Off screen maybe he dealing with some demons and couldn’t handle it any more

I listen to the JRE podcast, Joe is close friends with Anthony B. I imagine hes going to cry during podcast or maybe not even have an airing this week.

Parts Unknown and No Reservations were two good shows.

RIP Anthony Bourdain
