Still super gay & one hell of a car all these years later. Also, the eyeball vents do suck. Replaced mine with Eclipse vents.

I don't think he's hating on the miata, just clarifying that the stock ones don't make good sports cars, just great roadsters.

They're viewed as God's gift to the world though, every Miata owner I've spoken to (for the most part) has a complex and believes that owning "baby's first sports car" puts them above and beyond everything else on the road just because they're faster around a small parking lot than most others.

I sat in a ND at the new york auto show. I remember multiple people telling me "oh yeah, a friend of a friend of a friend is 9 ft 10 and he daily drives a NA miata!" so I figured I would be able to cram myself in at my manlet height of a mere 6ft 5. Nope! Knees were jammed into the dashboard, I could probably drive one of these uncomfortably for 15 minutes then call it quits.

That complex isn't so much of a mx-5 specific thing as a small car complex, we see it all the time with novices at the autox events.

Tell that to all the stock Miatas kicking ass on the road course. We all know they are slow as shit in a straight line. They were not built for the drag strip.

Stop talking to the 16 yr old kids then. ;) I'm on my 3rd NA Miata, but not THAT long ago I too thought they were gay & no fun etc. I actually bought my 1st Miata without ever driving one before that. As they say, the rest is history.

We're all car guys. Can't we just get along? :D

I only want one to do the headlight thing now.

I really hope this doesn't double post. I walked away after clicking post reply and it doesn't appear that anything happened.
