VMP taking trade-in knows the 2.3L market will be extremely thin after those that switch to the new 2.65L. The VMP, Whipple, KB, Turbo, etal marketplace can only handle a maximum of what 18k 03/04 Cobra total units. So pricing on refurbished 2.3L units will have to be competitive to other manufacturers. It appears the used market for 2.2, 2.3, etc. is currently finding difficulty commanding much over $2.3k for a low mileage blower.

For my thinking, the 2.65L will prove to be the sweet spot for our stock bottom end yet capable of delivering great power for those seeking the higher end of the curve.

I got $1,200 for anyone wanting to dump a Gen2.

The luck you have Corbic, you would get one for $1,200, bolt it on and the rotor pack would snap in half filling all eight cylinders with trash.

I E-mailed VMP a couple of weeks ago they informed me that they will sell the 2.3L and 2.65L together.

VMP just raised the cost of the GT500 TB significantly. I’m guessing in anticipation of the additional 2.6 units that will be sold that will need one. Nasty move if you ask me.

The $799 price for that TB is making me sick, amber tail light price sick.

View attachment 1491393 Well, VMP is in Carlisle this weekend and I just heard that the opened the first production unit of the gen3 blower. So, who is going to be getting one? I am excited to see some results.

I just pre-ordered and paid for mine from Malcolmv8 here on the forum and secured a pre-sale deal. VMP goes live with sales tomorrow. Really excited for the results and to have one of the first ones. Hope to have them posted for you guys here soon.

The 2.6 will be a great blower.

I wonder is if the size increase is going to affect the snappy drive that people love from the TVS. I think the modest size increase is promising though. Another thought is how hard the supercharger is to drive versus a twin screw and if that will affect the longevity of the crank like we have seen in some other larger blowers.

I believe I read the 2.65 is easier to drive than the 2.3

Do you guys think the 2.3 will still be produced? It's a great little blower. I love mine.

I just can't wrap my mind around why VMP would make that GT500 throttle body so expensive! I understand they want to make money, but come on.......they marked it up tremendously.

BS move!

They lost a sale from me because of their greed.

I sold my TVS a few months ago in anticipation for this and the Whipple Gen 3..

I think its great VMP stepped up and is making a 2.65 for the Cobra community. Am I the only one who thinks its half assed though? Reason I say this is over in the Coyote world its all about throttle body size and inlet size on these blowers. Is VMP only going to offer the GT500 throttle body option for Cobras? If I remember right you have to use the same inlet and throttle body that the 2.3 uses which is going to be a huge restriction. For GT500 and Coyote they offer 160mm and 173mm throttle body options, anyone know how big the VMP 03 04 Cobra throttle body is?

For GT500 and coyote all of the numbers they are posting are from the bigger throttle bodies, i'm curious what those motors will make with the adapter and the smaller twin 67mm throttle body attached. I'm just going to guess the numbers would be substantially lower than the 173mm throttle body numbers. Hopefully i'm wrong and they offer up larger elbows and throttle bodies so you guys can see the full potential of the larger rotor pack.

As for VMP marking their throttle bodies up a couple hundred bucks is just wrong. They do offer great products, I wont knock that but they are clearly concerned with making as much money as they can off their customers. I get businesses need to make money to stay open but raising the price that much is just wrong.

I think the GT500 TB is going to handle what most of us throw at this blower. If a person is really wants more flow they could go with a Whipple crusher TB which has the same bolt pattern but a larger opening, although these TB's suck as far as quality.

I'm upgrading to a 123MM crusher intake to go with my 2.65 blower, but for most there MAF's are smaller than their TB blades.

That TB should be more than capable to flow the air that blower can move maxed out. 160mm would be a tad of an over kill for a 2.6L @ 6700rpms with a 2.6 upper and stock lower. You will have more issues with if the MAF can flow that, the air filter, the intake tube.
