Except all the Sears stores are closing up. I hope Lowes honors the guarantee.

I think it's sad that Sears won't price their tools better. If they did, I know I would buy almost everything there. But when they have 200% to 300% mark-up over Amazon it makes it very hard to want to support your local business. I'm happy paying 5 or 10 bucks more for local stuff but not double or triple the price

That is with the lifetime guarantee factored in. A ton of breakage involved translation, "profit"

And when they break they give you garbage new ones...
Yup, no longer can you go grab one off the shelf. They give you one out of a drawer, the first they gave me had tons of slop in the gear, and had to give another. It's 50/50 if you get a rebuilt US or China one.

I bought an impact to do my old trucks suspension years ago, expecting to get a couple uses. I and friends have beat the hell out of this thing and hasn't missed a beat. Same for their impact socket sets.

I bought a set of ratchet wrenches and when I used the half in to take the front fender off my wide glide it stripped. First use.
Live and learn.

I like the Ace by us for materials, electrical etc...but not tools, way too much crapsman shit.

Everything there is overpriced. It’s just a convenience factor. I was referring to who will sell Craftsman once Sears is gone.

Honestly Milwaukee and Dewalt put everything craftsman to shame.

Heard Husky is surprisingly good too, but haven't tried. All my Dewalt stuff has been holding up well.

I got to Ace out of convenience, and the only chain I've found that hires people who have some knowledge on what they sell. Mainly because half are older guys, lol.

Dewalt is a Stanley company now. Blah :)

Been for a while. Still American owned. They are also trying to bring back as much American content as possible. My new brushless set was at least assembled in the US.

Milwaukee is Chinese owned and headquartered. So profits go there and they have no intention of bringing any business back to the US.

I don’t understand the purpose of the premium HF power tool lines. They are only marginally cheaper then DeWalt and Milwaukee but if you watch reviews and disassembly videos; they are significantly inferior.

I know HF keeps comparing their prices to Snap On, but as everyone knows, Snap On is just over priced. Hell, why not go for broke and drag Hilti into it.

Stanley definitely takes care of their employees too. I just worried when the take over happened that I would lose local support on my dewalt tools.

My Dad taught me that Sears was the shit because it was good stuff, backed by a lifetime warranty. When I recently tried to invoke the lifetime warranty, they told me to eat shit, all the way up to the store manager. **** them, I went to Lowe's and got a better tool from Kobalt. It cost me a lot less than Sears' bullshit will cost them.

The Husky stuff isn't bad honestly.

Good to know, need to replenish a few things this summer.

Can't speak for a lot of their stuff, but been impressed with the Makitia drill. Building a shed, I left it on the rafter while doing the roof. Drove a nail right into the rear of the casing. After prying the nail out, continued to use it all day.
