Soldered the wires for the slot style MAF and mounted the bypass valve. I was able to use the stock power steering cooler. I just had to bend it and move the mounting tabs. The ends that the rubber hose attaches to is next to the radiator, not the hole in the stock location through the radiator support. Everything was straight forward.

Still more work to do.

I got the car put together and took it to a local tuner. The car is making exactly what I wanted. However, it has a hesitation between shifts with spirited driving. It just falls on its face for a second and then takes off. I contacted the tuner and he knew exactly what I was talking about. He told me that the only solution was to go with a return fuel system. I’m disappointed in the fact that I have to shell out yet more money for 400 hp. I spoke with this tuner two years ago and he did recommend a return style fuel system then, I just thought I could get away with the 255 in tank pump. Once that issue is resolved I will be very happy with the build. The car drives like stock until you lean on the gas.

That’s awesome man!

Over 300lb/ft for 4000 rpm spread. Nice.

Did you mention psi?

I did not and I’m glad you brought that up. It was 10. The bottom part of the dyno shows the boost reading through the run, which brings me to a thought I’d like to share. I have not compared the boost to similar combos without an intercooler, but it seems the boost comes on a little lazy. The boost is about 5psi at 5,000 rpm and builds 5 more in the last 1,000 rpm. I believe this to be because the supercharger now has to fill the intercooler and several extra feet of 3” pipe. It could also be because of the impeller design. Maybe someone could share their experiences.

I’m also second guessing my vacuum/ oil catch can route. I have both valve cover vents routed to a catch can and then to the power pipe. I will continue to monitor it, but I think it might introduce oil into my intercooler and eventually my MAF. A solution would be to cap my power pipe barb and get a catch can with a filter on top to let it vent out of that.

I also forgot to mention that, while driving to the dyno, the supercharger began to make a horrible noise. It sounded like marbles in a tin can. After closer inspection, it seemed like an idler pulley making the noise. They were all new and I used loctite and torqued to specifications. I put a tube to my ear and listened to different pulleys while the engine was running and narrowed it down to one. I took the supercharger bracket off and found this:

It was hitting the supercharger case.

I don’t know why it didn’t do it initially. It was still tightly bolted down. All of the pulleys have a slight wobble to them. I filed the case and all is well.

When I put straight vents on the kb setup I had. I just routed both together to a “t” then breather filter out the top.

My mistake... I put said breather behind blower to hide it. While it worked fine every time you would turn on AC it would suck that smell into car around town.
So if you do vent to atmosphere. Try and run some extra line and make sure it’s well away from cowling.

As far as your boost, not in my wheelhouse. I would simply say that is due to the Centri design but I’m throwing darts at a wall on that one.

@Zemedici. Thoughts on his boost woes?

You should post this up over at IMBOC. I know the guys over there would love to see this especially because your Bullitt is True Blue. I have an 01 Bullitt in black #5245.

Did you delete the PPRV in the tank when you replaced the pump? That will cause a huge hesitation between shifts. Ive deleted mine and it has helped a ton but I still do get a hesitation between shifts depending on how quickly I get back on the throttle after the shift. This is on a 2002 GT btw.

I did not. I was reading about the PPRV and came across so much incomplete or misinformation. Thanks for posting that you still have hesitation. Was yours hard to start afterwards? I’m not sure what route I want to go.

I would delete it regardless. My hesitation before was huge, the car would fall on its face for a quick second, and now its just a little nuisance. If I shift slower and ease on the throttle, theres no hesitation. If I bang the gears and go wot, closed, wot again, Ill get a small hesitation.

It didn't do it as much with the SVT Focus pump and my 93 octane tune. However, it seems to have gotten worse after switching over to e85 as that is putting more demand on the system. PPRV deleted of course in both scenarios.

It is not hard to start at all but does crank longer if the car sits over night. I usually cycle the key back and fourth a few times to prime the system and it starts right up. I believe the Deatschwerks pump I installed has a built in check valve so that should help keep some fuel in the line too.

I put in a V1 T on a Mach 1 and then I added a terminator fuel tank and pumps. No hesitation during shifts so there is no need to waste money a return fuel system.

Get a terminator tank and pumps.

I appreciate the responses. Doesn’t the terminator set up have the PPRV? Did you delete yours? Do you still have a manual transmission and how many pounds of boost are you seeing? I have enough fuel now, wouldn’t I have the same issue? Why or why not? Trust me, I not wanting to spend more money than I have to.

I did some research on the PPRV delete and decided to try it. The fuel pump I have is different from most of the pictures I’ve seen of the delete. I believe the part number is TU299.
I bought the submersible fuel line and clamps.

I thought that this was the PPRV.
IMG_0835.JPG

I took it off and nothing was in it. It was just a T like fitting. The pump looked like this.
IMG_0833.JPG

I then saw the check valve in the end of the pump.
IMG_0834.JPG

I held the pump upside down and stuck a small screwdriver in there and broke the plastic tabs around the check valve and pulled it out.

I put the T like fitting back on and I didn’t even have to replace the fuel line. I was skeptical but it works. I don’t have any hesitation. I don’t have enough time with it to tell how the cold starts are.

Are you still using the GT tank and pump basket? The PPRV is the white thing that is usually screwed down into the top of the basket. Its right after that short piece of line.

No, I replaced mine two years ago with what is shown in my above post. It came with everything and the fuel sending unit. I believe BBK sells a version of what I have. If you look at the picture in my post, it did not have what you described.
