This is the ’19 Dodge Charger HellCat, caught for the first time while testing outside of SRT’s headquarters.

The Charger will get a mild facelift for 2019 before a new version finally comes in 2021, based on the Alfa Romeo Giulia platform. For now, the HellCat gets a modified grille, front fascia and hood, though it’s likely to be fairly similar to the current model. Expect some mild performance upgrades, too, although horsepower may not stray from the magic 707 number.

The Charger may also benefit from some of FCA’s newer driver assistance technologies, while the HellCat itself may also benefit from better ways to put its enormous power on the ground from its supercharged V8. Expect to see the new Charger late this year.

Mild changes overall, of course. The paint color and the wheels are highlights from what I'm seeing. The real fun begins with the new platform coming for the 2021 MY.

So paying top dollar for a slightly different looking HC, people don't want the same they want different. Those wheels are ugly af too.. they should have gone for some new deep dish style and actually give it some flavor.. those are bland.

I heard there is going to be a new badge. I guess that is why it's camouflaged on the car.

So are they just supposed to continue making the exact same car from the beginning of a new platform design to the end of life because I don't recall any manufacturer doing that... What exactly were you expecting from a non chassis refresh?

People bitching this is a 4 door, go buy a challenger. As for the weight of it, I can’t think of many guys that are using this car for daily duty that are sad with its ability to accommodate. The power and versatility this car offers at its price point is damn competitive on the market. What’s a better option new for new?

If you take power out of the equation, there are TONS of better options new-for-new, even in the luxury segment.

Then you wouldn’t be talking about a hellcat. The power is part of the package and a huge part of what makes it a special vehicle at that price point.

So again find me another car 4 door at this power or even remotely close that will provide such versatility between fun sports car, and practicality to utilize the room the 4 door provides and daily drivability at this price point.

It isn’t out there, Audi’s be it s6 or s7 are significantly more, bmw M5 much more as well, what is a comparable Benz offering, I’m sure a lot more.

Ford has nothing in that segment, Chevy has what? Cadillacs are more as well.

The charger hellcat is a stellar car that is with in reason for the average car guy that wants a fun car to still tackle daily life or daddy duty with 4 doors, and honestly doesn’t need mods. Looks good, has pretty good build quality, sounds great, and performs great.

They are bringing back the adaptive cruise control so they needed to bring air in through the grill. Not sure I like this

Just can't wrap my head around why anyone would buy this over the Challenger. I like it and own a Charger myself but its just not in the same leave as the Challenger.
