Yeah - for sure typo and probably meant in-lb. I went with 10Nm, about 8 ft-lb The o-rings seal in the coolant, so really all the bolts are doing is seating the coolant manifold to the lower intake and sealing in the boost pressure.

Nice new o-rings and gasket:

Back to the manual - I think I agree with 10Nm for the lower intake to heads. I think I also agree that it's not really documented. The specifications section says "Refer to procedure" - why they couldn't just put the numbers in instead of dashes is beyond me. I guess maybe because there is a difference for the NA Mach 1 32-Valve?:

Unfortunately, the procedure section had no mention of torque (although it does at least give the pattern):

I have everything back together and it goes to the shop for a tune and dyno on May 8th. I figured I would put a new belt on since the old one was starting to develop some cracks. I went with the Gates Fleetrunner green belt. Well, four of them actually..o_O

The first one I bought was 74", which matched length of the Gatorback that was on it. I couldn't get that thing even close to going on (2.8 upper, 2@100MM idlers). I read a bunch of stuff on stangshiftergaskets for sizing, used the "belt calculator" page on LMR, etc., and still couldn't figure out what to get so I did what any idiot would - I eyeballed it and guessed. The next one I bought fit like an old sock - too loose. I then got smarter and ordered two different sizes because I knew I was going to screw it up again. They both went on but the shorter of the two was too tight, I think. The one that fit well was 75 1/8 (K080745HD).

I guess my question is should I go with the tighter belt? I don't want slip but I also down want to over stress the alternator or snout bearings. Are the factory tensioner marks still relevant with the non-stock idlers and SC pulley?

I'd run the longer belt and keep the shorter one to the side. If you don't have any slip on the dyno send the shorter one back.

The second pic has the correct tension. Keep in mind belts do stretch some over time, my brand new 775 gatorback stretched from pic 1 to pic 2 after flogging it with 1/8th mile runs for one night. It started chirping like all heck and when I swapped it for a gates RPM 780 it put the tensioner in the same spot (middle) but with no more chirp.

Cool thanks for the input on the belt. I'll hang on to the shorter one for a few weeks just to be sure.

On another note, I just got the car back from the tuner. All we get up here at altitude is 91 octane so I think it turned out pretty respectable numbers at 507 RWHP and 518 TQ.

Here are the results:

Not bad. I'm not overly excited with the 12.0 AFR, but that's not my job. Generally see 11.5-11.8 AFRs on a set up like yours. I'm sure others will have opinions as well. Numbers aren't too bad for an upper only. Definitely enough to have some fun.

Is this DynoBobs Port? If so i really have a question and advice. Im new or Green into the SVT Forums. Long story short im planning on buying an 04 Cobra unmolested 1 owner but im on a serious low budget and ive talked to Bob and he said he could port my Eaton,TB,modify my airbox, upsize my injectors, replace my plugs, replace my belt to a Gator belt and do the venom cooler package all around 2000.00 or so. STAGE 8 with Venom Cooler he said he guarantee me about 520ish wheel he sounded happy to do it I'd deliver the car to him. I need help or advice whether this is legit or worth it and what really caught my attention or worried me he said he wouldnt half to tune it. This will be done with factory exhaust due to the fact that i live in Cali so I'd be doing the exhaust at home due to doing SMOG then i could slap offroad x and Catback, thank you God Bless

Just the fact that he mentions changing injectors and it won't need a tune would make me run away. Save your money and get a twin screw.

It is a dynobob port. He told me the same - no tune required because I was not changing the pulley and therefore the boost level. The port would just make the blower more efficient at moving the air. I got it tuned mainly because I was not happy with the last tune and I also wanted them to tune out the WOT then fall on it's face issue, which they were able to do.

In any event, my own experience with Bob was great. He did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it (which is getting more rare these days). He told me I should see 500HP which is about 65 more than I dyno'd at before. Put all that together and I am a happy customer.

All that said, I could see where an injector change would be something the computer would want to know about but I'm not an expert by a long shot.

My buddy just went through this with Nitrous Outlet. He had to call to order shirts because something was messed up on their site. I've ordered parts from VMP in the past with no issues. But I haven't ordered a blower yet.

Sorry for the late response just got off work. Well im in San Diego CA i personally dont know anyone that really works on 03/04 Cobra's so thats why i called Steggy and he told me what he could offer and it sounds like a sweet deal and all but im scared of getting all that work and no tuning. And yes VMP wont ship me anything because of State Regulations and what sucks is they do good work from all reviews I've read. I guess for now ill go with the typical CAI,Full Exhaust, Lower and Upper Pulley and some kind of SCT Tuner Handheld and obviously swapping the right plugs and belt for the car i hope i get some decent power outta the car and be happy

Just read your reply thank you for responding yeah basically he said he would do a Stage 8 port and a Venom Cooler upgrade and to be exact Ported Eaton Stage 8,TB,Modify the factory Intake Air Box aka CAI, upsize supersonic my factory injectors,Gatorbelt,NGK Colder Set Spark Plugs and a upper 2.8 pulley all for around 2000ish. Now right now i would just ship the car to him from the dealership straight to ST.Charles Missouri directly to his shop which he said it would be fine and be happy to do it but i got nervous when he said no tuning required but if he's adding a upper blower pulley shouldnt that be mandatory to tune???? My buddy yrs ago had a 03 Oxford White Coupe he swapped his stock pulley for a 2.8 and had BBK o/r X-pipe,JLT Straight Shot and a Mac Catback as well with a Dragonov twin tb and a handheld tuner and to be honest it pulled harrrd AF from a passenger POV but he never changed the Plugs either and he drove that car really hard and like 2 months of doing WOT pulls, alot racing in Mexico, doing pulls up to top speed he blew a Rod so ever since i always said i want my mods to be done the right way 1st time buying quality parts for the car and so basically thats where im at currently
