Oak - what kind of car really wows you? When you’re sitting back thinking about cars...what do you come back to again and again? You obviously have really nice taste in rides...what do you REALLY want? Enough horsepower to enable time travel? Crazy formula one handling? Amazing styling? Something vintage? Something nobody else has? Lots of great suggestions in this thread. What do YOU really want?

A Gen 2 Viper with boost is an absolute blast. They actually are not that uncomfortable, especially if it is just your weekend fun car. To be honest it is actually one of the most comfortable cars at 100+ mph I have ever driven.

If you do ever drive a boosted Gen 2, be careful they can get out of hand in a hurry!
Yea I had one for 5 years and it was easily the most unbearable car ive driven next to formula cars but mostly due to the heat and the A/C being mostly ineffective. That and the pedal location makes my legs ache. I still track that same GTS on the roadcourse though.

Or...
Keep the ZR1, mod it later, and buy the Slingshot, then mod it.
There’s a wicked Cobra here that’s on a tubular chassis with a TT 5.0, it’s pretty nasty.

Pick your poison.

My brother works for Polaris/Indian and he doesn’t have many good things to say for the slingshot. Tons of recalls and a pain to work on. Adding a supercharger or turbo doesn’t help much because they lack available traction as is. You can’t install a wider tire/wheel in the rear without having a swing arm fabricated to accommodate it. My first impression on driving one was that the fit and finish was sub par(Ugly welds, rough edges on the panels), but it was fun to drive and is wild looking.

As a former owner of 2 C6 Vettes, I say ditch the ZR1 for something more exotic. Hard pass on Slingshot.

OP, I take it you haven't really tried to throw the RS7 through some tight corners. Try that a few times, and it'll make you run back to your ZR1. LOL When pushed, the RS7 probably handles as bad as or worse than a Hellcat.

If you just want to be punished while still having a good time, you could get one of these:

or a dominatrix.

How tall are you? I am 6'1 and have never really had a problem with the pedal position/location.

You see I had always heard that the heat gets pretty unbearable and the A/C sucks. Now it does get hot especially if you are sitting in traffic or at a light, but I as soon as I roll up the windows and have the a/c on I don't have any problems.

Back to the OP, if you want something that is scary fun/fast I would definitely suggest a supercharged Viper. Although GT Premi has an excellent idea with the Ariel Atom, you can't get much more raw then that!

6'2, its just super awkward to me, especially on track.

Just saw the slingshot thing, I think everyone is just being nice but ill say. 100% gay.

If I had 100k of **** you money for a toy, I'd probably just commission a build of exactly what I wanted.

I suggest a bad ass restomod, depreciation will not be bad, and it will be setup for what you want to use it for. Viper is a solid buy as well, but I don't believe it will provide enough difference from your ZR Juan to keep you held over.

Get you an old rough example of a 63 split window vette, and make it nasty. Modernized chassis, 4 link, fuel injection and let that bitch ride.

Pull up in that mother ****ing Bruce Wayne on them.

Say what? Doing a restomod is like throwing money into a trashcan and setting it on fire.

I have to somewhat agree with this. The Audi does not drive well around the curves—-at all. The hellcat handles quite a bit better. Both cars feel 1000lbs heavier than the vette. Because they are.

this is a disease I tell you!

To be honest I don't even know what I want anymore! Now i'm looking at gt350's since they have come below msrp now. I think a viper would be it for me though...it's my dream car from high school and I have never owned one!

The ZR1 is an incredible car though. It's tough to replace. It just doesn't have much wow factor. Most people think it's just another vette, which there are millions of! Kinda like getting a gt350 I guess! lol

ZR1 to GT350? No way would I do that. Gen5 Viper then. Check it off the list finally. Worst case, you don't like it & sell it.

Yea go gen 2 gts, gen 4 acr or gen 5. Based off your comments I think its really what you want. As much as I love to whine about ride quality i never would have gotten rid of mine if it didnt go to family.

Buddy of mine just bought 10x gen 2 gts and is looking for 20 more to hoard, ive heard of others getting in on that bandwagon so they may dry up if that becomes fasionable
