I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the AM kit for the VMP stage 1 supercharger for my 2011 M6. Does anyone have any experience with this kit ? Should I go directly to VMP ?

Also, AM states their kit has a triple pass heat exchanger (without fans), how good is it ? Thx in advance for your replys.

In my opinion if your not using VMP for tuning then I'd go to whoever will give you the best deal. I have read that the triple pass fanned heat exchanger is a lot better. Its quite a bit thicker and drops IATs an average of 20-30 degrees. Just look at how thick each of them are and that will tell the tale.

It all depends on what your goals are with the car. If you only plan to run pump gas then the stage 2 would be your best bet. I picked up a stage 2 over Black Friday weekend and hope to have it on by the end of April. Let us know what you choose.

Thx for your opinion. I actually purchased the kit from American Muscle the other day and noticed that their sales rep messed with the pricing and added a shipping fee. After a discussion with a another sales rep today, their lack of honoring the previous deal, I returned it. I'm pretty fed up with their games and thinking about starting a separate thread on my experience.

Have you tried contacting VMP directly? I had a few questions and their staff reached out to me and walked me through my questions. Super helpful and pretty responsive at VMP.

After buying the stage 1 kit from AM, then buying upgraded HE, throttle body, etc. from VMP, I wished I would have just went straight stage 2 or 3 right off bat directly from VMP. You will get "safe" tunes from VMP.

I got mine through VMP directly. Just the base kit for now but it's plenty fast. Even with the base kit, where I'm at never had any problems with overheating or heat soak. I daily drive it and it's a blast. It's a street car for me and for that purpose, the Stage 1 is great. If you do your own install as I did, allow yourself an entire long weekend. Not difficult, just time consuming but so worth the money. I'm still on the fine tuning phase but the base tune was pretty good out of the box. I did my first data log and uploaded the revised tune which woke it up even more. I just have a couple of minor adjustments to have them make but it is a great kit.

The strut brace is for a 2007-2009 Cobra. Works great. I had to trim the padding under the hood a tad, but no big deal.
