Finally had to bite the bullet and get a clutch for my 07 GT500. I should have done this when I bought the car lol. What a difference! Also replaced the throw out bearing and clutch line. Had ford do it since I do not have the time with kids and such. I know the drivetrain tech very well as my dad has worked there for 30 years. Only time I have every had someone else do this kind of work. Took home 5 hours. Couldn’t be happier. Just thought I would share.

I had an RXT installed on my 08 and I really like it. I am glad it worked out for you

I just put 500 miles on my RST and it is amazing at how much better the pedal feels over stock. I don’t notice much noise from it either.

I have my car apart at the shop now and I was looking at the engine/trans sitting there on the floor with a 2011 clutch with about 8k on it. They're suggesting the SPEC SS, but I want smooth engagement and support up to 800 or so HP. Are those 2 things achievable? Should I be looking at like the RST or the DYAD DS instead?

Just to mix it up...I'm not that happy with my RXT after running a stock setup for about 6 years. It's very harsh, noisy and shakes the car if you don't engage it perfectly. I've owned the RXT for about 17 months now.

Don't get me wrong, it's a high quickly product and grabs with confidence...but it is not meant for the street IMHO. Strip or road course...the thing rocks. In rush hour traffic, not a good experience.

To those looking to upgrade, just do your homework. This is the only mod I'm not happy with.

Well, my experience with the RXT has been positive. Yes, its a little more noisy than stock and does shake if you don't get it right. But, it is lighter than stock and it is smooth as long as you engage it correctly (which I find easy to do). I also drive the car in traffic, its not the most pleasant experience but so was my 99 cobra.

I agree with Black Cobra- the RXT in my 2008 is much better than stock. Yes, it might make a little noise once in a while but I know I can hammer on it with confidence. After all, these are not Honda Civics so you have to give a little to get performance

Ive had a similar experience to Barspen with my RXT. Im going to pull it and sent it for an inspection at McLeod when I have my transmission rebuilt.

OP, your organic disc RST should be much nicer at engagement than the ceramic RXT.

Add me to the list of "not so happy" RXT owners. Pedal feel is real good and smooth but it's annoying that it chatters/shakes the car so much when starting if you don't hit it just right. It holds power well (I'm only at 530rwhp) so I expect it to last me a good while but I wouldn't consider using it again and would likely have been much happier with the RST (organic vs. ceramic).

If I keep this car long enough to put another clutch in, I'll probably just go with the DYAD.

I think the break-in period is longer than they state. Once its has some time on it , no problem.

My RXT has some chatter as well. I noticed the best way to leave from a stop is rev it and let the clutch out on decel. Sounds kind of ricey (or look at me) but it leave the smoothest take-off

Keep us informed about the RST, I"m about to need a clutch and that's the one I'm thinking about the RST.
Just FYI, RST & RXT are different clutches.

I am still in the break in period with the clutch so I am taking it easy but its its a lot better than stock for sure. I am happy with the RST as VMP told me that between the RST and RXT the daily driving is better with the RST (less noise, easier pedal, and less harsh vibration). I do not daily drive my car however I wanted it to be as driver friendly as possible. Now I just have to figure out how to afford the car with extra child on the way lol.
