I understand all.... im not looking for a Demon or attempting to justify. My buddy has a plan to buy one for publicity reasons so i told him I would keep an eye out.

I look forward to my chance to gap a Demon....or get gapped...either way it will be a good time.

There is a huge jump between a challenger r/t and a hellcat but going to a demon is very little actual content difference. An average car if you put all the components in a flat BOM it will have about 20,000 line items are more. The demon literally only has a handful of components different than a hellcat. Even less, now that the standard hellcat is available as a wide body. The engine and trans are 95% or more the same, few suspension odds and ends, hood scoop and wheels and tires. Not knocking it, but it is what it is.

If you compare mustang GT performance pack and Shelby GT500 there is more than a 50% difference in part content but the MSRP jump is only $15,000. So it’s a huge value play for the Shelby. You couldn’t build a forged 5.8L 4v with TVS for that, not even close.

Haven’t people been having issues with the Hellcat’s trans brake?

Oh, wait. That’s right.

Maybe it was problems with the “killer chiller.”

No?

But, but.....they’re practically the same car.

Wow, who ****ing cares?
Troy's friend wants a Demon. Do you know where he could find one at MSRP?

Funny thing is he isn't going to find one for MSRP, unless he wants to wait another year then one might pop up as the dealership would be forced to start paying for the thing, all the ones that are still at dealers have the ADM junk added on from $5000 to $50,000+ MSRP and everything inbetween. His only other choice would be lightly used (under 4000 miles)

Your friend will have to stay aware and keep looking.
He may get lucky and find one for $20k adm.
Production is almost complete with the last of them being plum crazy and b5 blue.
Good luck, I love mine.

Dealer/Admin fee was probably $20k, lol.

Some shady fookers. I was bored and called again. Supposedly it was a customer’s order and not available for the general public. When I asked about the online ad, I was told that’s “just how they do business.”

Edit - I also had an online chat going with one of their reps. After repeatedly avoiding the “is it available question” and asking me for my number and email address multiple times, he gave up and told me it was.

The classic "oh we sold that special price one, but let's get you into a more expensive one".

not at my post...
Old tactics die hard. I remember going to look at an ad truck about 20 years ago my brother wanted, and they pulled that shit.

Bill Heard Chebby was one of the worst around here, those ****ers went down in flames years ago, even Jalopnik wrote about those shady ****ers
