AWD shouldn't happen to a Mustang. German muscle is NOT what many of us want in American muscle.
If you want big power AWD, you're paying outside the Mustang range and it just changes the dynamic. I enjoy the respect big power RWD takes, but my wife can drive an AWD 10sec RS7. No challenge, gets boring quick.
Just my opinion.
The SVT/Cobra/GT500 plan works, no need to change.
I would be on board with a 'Cobra roadster/Pantera' special deal AWD to slot between GT500 and the GT, to compete with ZR1 etc in the 100k arena. I'm guessing a pipe dream at this point, we will all be satisfied with the next GT500 from what I've heard/seen.

We will see what the new gt500 will cost to determine what type of reality of price its in compared to what you get from a German manufacture. Its really all the market up's that they do in the beginning of releasing that is totally bs for these "special mustangs". Same concept say of the Demon, its 100k and you get a hellcat basiclly for 50-60k. Its the beginning bs that I don't like that Ford and Dodge dealers do more over then even GMC/Chevy. Regardless these 3 manufactures know how to make a lot of cars quickly these days. You see how many Demon's they made like over 3k, wow that's not special imo. Back in the days of the Cobra r's there were like 300 or something.

Agreed. I see both sides of the mark up game but if I could go back I would’ve bought one of 2 Demon offered at MSRP. I bought my ‘14 under MSRP and don’t mind waiting a year on the next GT500 if ADM crazy.

Who really cares? Build your own damn fast car and stop relying on the big 3 to build it for you.

Absolutely something to be said for having a car set up the way you want it, not the way Ford wants it. That process is half the fun. I am very interested to see the new GT500, but it will take a lot to get me out of my '13, especially now that I've started "Griggs-ing" it.

Gen 3 TVS makes the turbo idea a tougher sell.
Depends on your goals with car, but there's a fine line when you will have to build the motor or upgrade many things vs a base TVS swap and run 9.5s without as much worries.
I'll be interested to see what you decide man!

Not to mention converter.... TVS wont require one until you get serious about ET.

My goal for this car is a mid 9 at low to mid 140s. Shouldn't need a converter with a TVS to hit those goals.

Turbo car should have one.

Yep, just give use a good starting platform----see '03-04 Cobra :)

LoL. I did this. Couldn’t be happier. Every time people ask me why put so much money in a 15 year old car I smile and say because I wanted to. They don’t get it. They’d rather spend $80k on a turnkey (heavily depreciating) vehicle with half the power. That’s cool. I wish them the best and hope they are very happy.

My 03 does most all of the things I like, and it’s a 1 of 1. I don’t see my car at any shows or any traffic jams.

That all said, I think ford has something very special on its hands. I hope to see a 750hp gt500 and an 850hp KR model.

From real world experience, I can say that the extra 100hp won’t really do much at that point though, but it should be good for 5mph at the strip.

Driving my car on 750whp or 850whp is noticible, but not like going from 400whp to 500whp. The real drama happens at 20-30psi with some nearly 4 digit wtq and 1200 whp. That’s spin em at 80 in 4th till 125+ with a clutch kick kind of power, and useless as it is, damn is it good ol red blooded god bless America enjoyment.

The big three are really doing well right now though. Arguably the best value in badass performance available. Don’t get me wrong, a gt3rs is worth every one of those 20,000,000+ pennies, but for 7,000,000 pennies you can get a gt350r which is very honestly nearly as enjoyable. 8,500,000 pennies gets you a hellcat demon, and 13,000,000 pennies gets a great z06

While I enjoy the thought of our cars being incredibly rare, I know sure as shit I wouldn’t be driving a GT500 if they were produced in such small numbers.

And Certainly wouldn’t have gotten into one ANYWHERE near MSRP if I was vying to be 1 of 300 buyers.

AWD, 100k starting prices, luxurious German-caliber interiors, none of that stuff screams Mustang to me.

Some of you are nuts.
