S6. It rides better, looks better, has vastly superior interior, better quality materials, more rare, more prestige, etc. Seems like you're blowing through money like crazy. You might as well look the part. Also, the S6 is just a tune away from 500+HP. Zero - 60 in under 4 seconds, stock. Tuned will be mid to low 3s. Plus, hot V twin turbos are all the rage right now.

Blowing through money like crazy is a relative term. We built a house as we were living in a condo that no longer fit our lifestyle. The deck is going to cost me materials but I’ll do labor myself, the garden will support all our veggies and some fruits so it’s well worth the vested time. As for the wife’s Volvo, we saved money and traded in her Audi A3 so we payed cash, well also be able to get at least 7 years out of that for ownership due to how limited she drives.

I’d rather not chase after a look the part goal as I have no one to impress, I just want a fun car to drive to work. I spend a lot of time in my car these days so I may as well like what I drive.

Hell im in a blue collar industry running a collision repair shop, so any car that’s newer will look the part lol

Those are 2 completely different cars, all depends on what you want. The Hellcat Charger is a sexy monster and describing it as fun to drive is a massive understatement. Its a damn riot every time I get in it. I daily drive mine and had a sensor go out but it was still driveable and has been very reliable for 11K miles. Stock tires sucks and don't last. Sticky tires make the car much more enjoyable but you won't get anywhere near 10K miles out of the rears. Brakes pads dust and squeal like crazy when they get low. Pads and rotors are really expensive but there are Powerstop options that are only a slight downgrade.

Something to think about on the model year. 2015 production was severely limited(883 2015s vs 4,025 2016s vs 1,713 2017s in the US) due to transmission production and they have the 5 year 100K mile drivetrain warranty. They made a ton of 2016 Chargers and you can get in a low mileage one for mid to upper 50s. 2017 brought a wheel change and Im not a big fan of those. Also make sure you get warranty work documented. There have been supercharger and driveshaft issues that may need to be addressed. Mine are somehow both stock from the factory(25K miles) so its not "too big of an issue" but could mean several weeks of down time

What color? Any questions let me know!

If it were me, I'd go ScatPack and save your money. Livernois has a tune for them now if you need a little extra power. The "other" choice would be a Taurus SHO/Lincoln MKS with an LMS tune. I ran against a ScatPack 392 Challenger at the track last year and yanked him hard at the start and he didn't come around until the finish line. I also have a 2 year old daughter who's rear facing and a second one due in July and I have plenty of room in the front seat.
So you're telling him to buy a car that got walked by your Lincoln? I would be looking to trade that scat pack in after that LOL

Don’t listen to him. He is one to talk about blowing thru money. I say Scat pack based on what your going to use it for. Save the extra money for the kid and put away for your Viper down the road. Congrats by the way.

Thank you for the input based on real world experience. As tine gets closer I may still see what used hell cat prices are, but if I’m being responsible I may just go with a scat pack. It’ll still be a beautiful car with plenty of fun power for a daily driver but they are so much less even new understandably so obviously.

I said it above the car I really want is a viper but it is t something I can swing for maybe another 2 years so the charger would be something to bide my time with.

Lol thanks, I try to be practical with my finances these days. A few years ago I did a smart thing and parted out my mustang, sold my bikes, and parted ways with my f150 to consolidate. Saving money for the kid will be a big thing as I’d like to be able to enjoy cars with him when he’s old enough.

I wouldn’t want a modded mks or Taurus anyway, even if it was faster. They both seem bland to me appearance wise. At that point I may as well just toss a tune on the fusion but I have zero desire for that.

Pretty hard to beat AWD launches on these things. Friend took this:

I was only thinking of something that was almost comparable speed wise to a Scat Pack, but a good $10K or so cheaper. I'm a little over 2 years on my MKS and have 0 complaints.

Are you going to **** with the car?

If so, hellcat all day. The 392s like to blow out the rings if you run more than 5-6psi of boost.

However, Hellcats can make 1000rwhp on stock motor, right @zhisel ? :D

@DavidHasselhoff what say you sir!?!?! hehe

But for real.

Hellcat.

/Thread
Throwing a blower on a Scat is just dumb, lol

1000rwhp must mean you only have a CAI on it, lol.

Sooo....tell me again why everyone is shitting on the S6?
Because the Hellcat always wins!

Given how much you drive, I would go S6. Hell an S4 would be way better than the Focus, and 354hp/369tq.

Other option, look at a CTS-V. Maintenance isn't that bad, and reliable.

Get an insurance quote before you decide. I DD a Charger Hellcat and the bump in insurance was shocking even from an AMG SUV. That said, if you can afford it, you can’t beat a DD Hellcat Charger.
When I say DD I mean snow tires to drag radials. And yes I’d recommend both :)

Good point on insurance. Sucks to find out after the fact.

S6 is one bad bitch of a car. Does not get anywhere near the respect it deserves.

The interior will make the HC's look like a 1990s f-body Camaro (ok maybe not that bad).

Tune-only TT v8 audis run 10s at close to 130. Downpipes/intakes/exhaust and those turds are nasty fast.

Plus they look gorgeous IMO.

The only way i'd go HC over S6 would be if I was shooting for 9 sec slips or 1k horsepower. Then i'd buy/build a Hellcat car and call it done.

Hellcat Charger. All day,..........everyday.
If I didn't need the 4X4 for the winters here, my daily would be a brand new Hellcat Charger.

My good friend DDs an RS6 and we swapped cars after a hockey game last fall. Now he wants to swap his out for a HC. No contast on the interior quality but for sound and driving enjoyment and even comfort the Charger Hellcat is hard to beat. My car on DRs is faster than his RS. Definitely top end and feels faster.

Still a nice vehicle... the RS line of cars are SICK too!

That RS3 is Mmmm Hmmm sexy. Would be a mighty fine daily driver. Inline 5 sounds heavenly.

Hellcat. If your not looking to mod like crazy or chasing horsepower than I would go scat pack, it still packs a punch just no forced induction. If your looking for potential and future mods down the road I’d go Hellcat.
