Just a little wishful thinking. Now with the new ZR1 and Hellcat/Demon Ford has really taken the back burner when it comes to the hp wars, times and stats. I really hope The GT500 can take the lead and spotlight. By that I mean Ford kicked ass with the first release of the terminator and then the 13-14 Shelby, now the talk of the town is the ZR1 and demon. We have waited so long for the gt500 I really hope it can live up to these other impressive stats. I know most car guys believe that the demon/ZR1 are kind of in a different league with purpose and price but to the majority of the population outside of us guys they are in the same boat and Ford is by far in last place nowadays.

Common Ford, go above and beyond and surprise us!

Again just a wishful thinking rant.

put it this way- nobody stays on top for very long anymore. there is always something faster coming along...i happen to think that cars are like computers and cell phones nowadays- someone comes out with something faster and lighter and better screen and more memory blah blah blah then before you know it someone one ups them, then someone else does, and so on and so on. competition guarantees ongoing and continual changes and sometimes improvements (improvements can be debatable). like has been said on this and many other forums, there will come a time where cars will only have so much hp/tq coming off the assembly line, then other things will have to change like weight, technology, etc. in order to achieve any 'improvements.' With the ability to mod just about anything worth modding nowadays, I will only buy something because I love the way it looks- if I want more power or better traction or whatever it may be then I will make appropriate changes. i am still shocked at how many people in online forums and discussions are dying to have one yet nobody knows what it even looks like yet. obviously there are always those who feel they have to have the 'latest and greatest' no matter what.

IMO ford could change the muscle car game and add awd to the mustang and 700AWHP would destroy most all cars on the road for its cost. Once you go over 100k you get into the RS7/E63s / tesla etc... Hell did you see the new m5 and e63s can change from awd to drift by allowing more rear wheel drive (burn-outs-yes i'm still a kid at heart). So ford could achieve better 1/4 miles times with traction alone with less power and awd. Times have changed and people don't want rear wheel drive that cant hook up all this awesome power cars can delivery these days. But Ford isn't listening since we would have had a blower on the last gt350's etc.. Fords really going to have to make a statement since Dodge and Chevy have done extremely well after they left the power/muscle fight. Heck I owned a Dodge Hellcat in which I'd never have purchased a Dodge before but ford's offerings sucked imo. You know what its one hell of a car, they did an amazing job with that power planet. Personally I walked away when Ford went n/a. Miss the days of 03/04 cobra's in which these forums started with. F N/A these days. Give me v8 with a blower or twin turbo's period.

Great post. AWD is where it’s at!

Moved from Ford mustangs to Audi and happy with my Rs7. Nothing wrong with a flash with stock exhaust running 10's in comfort. Would take a lot for Ford to bring me back, and its a shame I love my cobra's and gt500. Don't think you could get me in a GT-350 unless someone strapped a blower on one first.

Muscle car and AWD do not belong together imo, not to mention said system would raise price of car dramatically....with 700whp?

Sure why not but tuned though, you know give us 700 hp at the crack with a power added of course, then tuning etc... 700awhp would be sick.

Regarding muscle cars and awd, thats a personal opinion. Having owned more cars then most I would say a rs7 is a german muscle car. Hell I can burn out and do donuts etc.. Its a beast to be respected. Ford won't we all know, just wishful thinking. Thank god for the Germans.

Understood. I don’t like to take any more than one person for a ride anyway so it would work for me.

It was one of those cars I felt like everyone was looking at me. Didn't like being that out there if you know what i mean. Regardless they are amazing, Audi makes awesome cars. Been spoiled going German hard to come back to Ford. Pray this new Gt500 (freaking wish they would drop the whole shelby name) will get me excited again for a Ford product.

Ford need to change the game. Hell make a pantera with a mid engine over just repeating history of none performing over powered rear wheel drive mustang. BTW is everyone else sick of the Shelby name. WTF happened to Cobra and svt. Not sure why they switch and ran with the Shelby branding. Don't like it, SVT felt dirtier which i liked. Damn you Ford for sucking the last 10+ years.

Someone call john coletti up and tell him Ford went the wrong way and they need help lol.

I hear you there, I love my Shelby but I really do miss my Terminator. SVT FTW!

I think they are milking the Shelby name. They will probably continue to do so until they no longer make money on it.

AWD shouldn't happen to a Mustang. German muscle is NOT what many of us want in American muscle.
If you want big power AWD, you're paying outside the Mustang range and it just changes the dynamic. I enjoy the respect big power RWD takes, but my wife can drive an AWD 10sec RS7. No challenge, gets boring quick.
Just my opinion.
The SVT/Cobra/GT500 plan works, no need to change.
I would be on board with a 'Cobra roadster/Pantera' special deal AWD to slot between GT500 and the GT, to compete with ZR1 etc in the 100k arena. I'm guessing a pipe dream at this point, we will all be satisfied with the next GT500 from what I've heard/seen.
