I know there’s lots of Android people on the forum, and wanted to solicit some feedback. I’m looking to move from my iPhone X to an Android for a while.

I had the S8 and thought it was ok. If price isn’t a concern, what would be your recommendation?

Samsung for sure.

I have the Note 8 and really like it. I'd choose the Note 8 over the S9 or S9+.

The ONLY gripe I have with Samsung is the damn curved screens. They're very expensive to replace once you crack them. A case and screen protector are a must.

Other than my very first android phone, the G1, every phone I've had has been a Samsung. They have all been great for their time. My current s6 edge is going on nearly 3 years of use and still doing great.

Samsung phones are utter garbage. Great for a while but their software tends to self destruct. It's an issue that's plagued their phones since the very first Galaxy. Samsung fans will tell you that whatever current generation it is has fixed the problem but it's not. There was just a big article on an Android website discussing their software problems.

The best Android phone is the Pixel line, bar none, end of story. That being said I have the LG V30 and am very happy with it.

It must take more than 3 years to self destruct. Or I could just be really lucky I guess.

You're either one of the lucky ones or you just don't notice it. I've met a lot of people that claim their Samsungs run great and a few minutes with their phone makes me wonder if we're using the same phone.

I just picked up a 9+ after 2.5 years with a S6 Active. I love it so far. Pictures are incredible. If you really want a Note I'd hold out for the Note 9.

I really liked my Note 7 until they took it away from me claiming it would catch fire, damn. Ended up with the S7 Edge and its ok, i have a feeling i would like it better had I not spent a few weeks with the Note. Next phone will be a Note 9

I’ve had one Samsung and it never worked. The microphone did not work, no one heard me when I called them. Samsung refused to fix it which really pissed me off.
LG or Pixel would be my recommendations.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Pixel and depending on what the LG G7 is like, I might get a Pixel.

Note 8>pixel in almost every way besides stock android and pretty even camera. I thought about getting a pixel xl before hand but the screen issues swayed me away.
